Why do so many people underrate Rooney? He can easily be better than Mata if he gets the right motivation, he is more rounded as a footballer and much more adept at making the difference in games.

Lukaku has the potential to be a better Drogba. He played immensely for West Brom last season, and well the season before that. Fast, tall, very strong and good in the air (and young). On the other hand, Rooney is on the decline.

I don't think his comment is facepalm worthy. I expect great things from Lukaku this season.

Absolute complete myth.

People forget how highly rated the likes of Gerrard, Lampard, Beckham, Scholes, Rooney, Owen, Ferdinand, Ashley Cole, Terry etc have been. In-fact I'd argue every single one of those players have been massively overrated in their careers at some point!

Some reason people can't grasp you can be a great player and still overrated, so before anybody does the usual reply and gets mixed up with what I'm saying, these are good-great players but can be classed as overrated.

Yes The Lukaku comment was OTT, but there has been many OTT comments the other way in this thread making Mata look like a nothing player. People saying he's all hype, Rooney is ten times better, far better al round and making the difference.
