Nobodies walking away from 12m/year on their own accord. Who else is going to pay him that kind of money?

Man City: Laporte - 6.26m, Otamendi - 6.24m , John Stones - 5.2m
Liverpool: van Dijk - 9.36m
Man Utd: Harry Maguire - 9.875m
Arsenal: David Luiz - 6.535m

:facepalm::facepalm: Good God, we are shit at wage budget. Crazy how every player, who's been at the club for more than 2 years is earning more than any other player at any other club in the same position, even if that player is one of the best, if not the best in the world, while ours has turned to shit. Judging by this, you'd think we're coming of winning 3 Champions Leagues in a row, not struggling to not become the Spanish Arsenal/Milan.

It made me sick to read that Lautaro news story from a few days ago, when it said he'll do anything to force the move to Barca, like it's out of the greatness of the club or something. Of course he'll push to earn 6,5M when he's earning 1,5M now! Disgusting! Lautaro's starting wage (if we manage to afford him) should be 3M AT THE MOST, it's still double the wage he's getting at Inter. Getting to 6,5M should only be after his 2nd extension in like 5 years, if he really turns out great for us, if not, we'd be able to get rid of him much easily. Just like we could do with Umtiti, if he was on 'normal' wages like 5 or 6M. And Ratomeu and his goons are making this happen, you can't really blame the player(s), can you? If someone would offer you triple or even four times the wage for doing exactly the same without even proving yourself to them first, you'd jump at the chance too.

At the time, extending him was the right choice, although the wage was really high. But the bigger question is that how was his release clause so low at the time?

Yeah to be fair I don't think anyone expected him to make a ton of bad decisions in regards to his knee after we gave him a new deal.

But he won't leave, knowing his luck the guy will walk right back into being 3rd choice again while any other deserving CB like Araujo or someone else we bring in ends up being back to 4th choice. It's time to stop rewarding this guy, every fucking game he has played he looked so far off the pace and cost us quite a bit due to how slow he is and the mistakes he makes.

Was he a great CB before his injury? Fuck yeah but this isn't 2016-18(Before WC) Umtiti anymore. Guy is done and he made that choice for himself and he knows it.

We’re the worst club at hoping players will return to their former selves. Umtiti, Rakitic, Busi and Suarez spring to mind.

In hindsight , this clown should have been binned with the way he was playing , when he was asking for that contract renewal.

Went downhill with Barca ever since.

Unbelievable arrogance to try and hold us hostage in the midst of a CL campaign after showing 6 good months of football.

Umtiti, with offers from England and France, refuses to leave the Camp Nou [MD]

Bum

And yeah I was the first here to blame him for the Roma debacle. Gone downhill Since then. Looked like he had been paid off to match fix the game against us.

He's never move to another club because of the wages he's getting and the wages he's earning is too high for other clubs.

I would gladly let him go out on loan for the rest of his contract rather than let him stay at the club as a 3rd/4th CB.
