Josep Maria Bartomeu

Don't think you have a clue of the on ground situation. Most socis don't know jack about the ongoings of Barcelona, the board or much else. Sport and MD isn't even read by as many locals as people think.

The abono is like 125 euros and then another hundred or so for the carnet. Most people are like in for 250 euros on average, all in, for the entire season. That's really not much, and most of the socis just have the card lying around, and it's given to nephews, nieces, friends, etc. for games.

Given that + the fact that it's a pandemic + the local media support that Barto has - getting these votes IS a big deal.

Then socios are absolute bums, precisely my point. Don't see how this conflicts with 'situation on the ground'.
If they're just a bunch of folks who get the card, sit on it and eat burgers without using their democratic privilege to oust the most universally unpopular president in the past 20-30 years then who else is to blame?

The situation is that the people responsible for filing a vote of no confidence include ~90k bums, and 20k are those who actually do their socio duty. How is that turnout 'good'? It's shocking. + word is that voting may be easier in the 1st round as votes can be cast in multiple spots around Catalonia, while 2nd round might have to mean in-person voting at Camp Nou. Makes the turnout even worse since it's more accessible.

Local media? You mean to tell me only those 20k that voted have Twitter/non-Barto outlet news? It's 2020. A corner shop selling Mundo Deportivo isn't the only source of news.

Lmao the standards

Nah, too late for that.
Signatures are validated.
They are now working hard on how to sabotage holding an assembly with strategic focus on exploiting Covid laws

(🌕) Bartomeu is still strong and they do not see him with the intentions of resigning, these were the sensations of some directives after a telematic meeting last night. They believe that he has nothing to lose and they rule out forcing his resignation. @HelenaCondis #FCB ☎️⛔️

📰 ? The Bar?a board have submitted a complaint regarding the motion of no confidence because they believe that there are more counterfeit signatures than claimed. The complaint was submitted to buy some time. [@fgarriga]

15% is an absolutely reasonable minimum for any democratic vote. How is that a hurdle?

You're talking as if it's supposed to be difficult to keep yourself up to date with the situation. If you're a socio, you pay your dues and you should care for Messi public criticism, and familiarise yourself with the ins and outs of it. It's what you pay for.

What excuse is there for people not knowing the vote is going on in the day of social media where it's impossible to stifle anti-Bartomeu message?

@Andresito wrote the vote may have to be given in person. Which is of course ridiculous, but that's the only real hurdle and it could prove a problem. None of the other excuses about awareness make any sense.

Considering no other censure motion ever accumulated this many signatures, it's already impressive. Throw into it the fact that there was a media blackout from Grupo Godo whereby the majority of socis weren't even aware there was an active motion ongoing. Then, consider there are no match going fans and COVID era of confinement and you still do not see hurdles? Good grief man, who are you kidding

Social media? You mean the basis for the I3 Barcagate also emanating from Bartomeu to attack on social media to spread propaganda and players/families?

Altogether willfully ignorant or on a WUM

Honestly - how can you not see that nobody is shut off from the objective news unless they are willfully (as you put it) putting themselves in a position of not doing research? Or just being shit at watching football? No blackout would stop a smart socio from finding out about the vote. Nothing.

Proving the bulk of your members are idiots. Simple.

I don't think anyone is denying that a large percentage of the socis are indeed useless. They are mostly old dudes who show up to Camp Nou and eat some jamon. So getting 10% or 15% with the majority of the socis being clueless + the pandemic + all the other factors mentioned = quite impressive, that is the point.

International fans (non socis) are far more involved and vested in the club than most local fans - that is just a fact.

It's impressive, but that's not the narrative posed by the likes of FCBarca.

What they say is "look how amazing this vote is despite all these hurdles [of which there's fuckall bar lack of electronic voting]"

What they should say "these socios are fucking bums, why are they not at the polls en-masse. Thank fuck we managed to drag their asses to get out and at least push the first vote through"

Most people are taking the pandemic extremely seriously in Spain so you wouldn't get a lot of people going to vote in person. Most socios are older people who are more vulnerable. And tbf when it looked like the signatures weren't going to be reached thousands more did turn up.

Nah. Extremely serious is a stretch. People are going to bars, restaurants, weddings, concerts, the beach etc.

Maybe it's different where I am in Valencia then. I guess serious in comparison to places like the UK where masks aren't worn by everyone outside. Don't think I've seen a single person without a mask on walking around the streets here.
