Would be great if Barca, Real, Bayern and Liverpool make the Semis. Each are multiple winners of the European Cup. Proper historical and traditional clubs, not average clubs that have become "big" due to funding by oil kingdoms or oligarchs.

I’m having a good laugh watching the camera swoop over Anfield. You have to admire the dedication of these Scousers, they are doing their very best attempt at scaring Manchester City with old history. Hey Liverpool fans, it’s about here and now! Many years since Liverpool last won anything of importance.

That is brilliant. Its not about scaring the opposition...it's about your own players feeling the support and love. Your own players getting that little extra to run that little bit faster and further.
Football is romantic...the here and now fans need to remember that.

We beat them at Old Trafford really easily a few weeks ago to make a bit of a gap. They are not very good away at all also and slip up every couple of games to the weaker teams.

At Anfield if you go openly you lose simple as. Thats why United go every year and play defensive but get good results. We haven't lost there for 5 years. So whoever gets them next has to not be as open as City and other teams play them,

Most of these teams remaining actually believe in their ability to play football. So they will take the game on, where as United just want to avoid defeat, hence why they lost to Seville...ironically.

Liverpool have actually been very good away from home this year...more point than United in away games.

Its hard to predict that something like last night would happen. But when it does, it always seems obvious and not even from a hindsight standpoint.

OK the here and now is Liverpool 3 Manchester City 0. Liverpools history is made from good management and good players. No sugar daddy ploughing billions into the club. People tend to forget that its only about 10 years ago or less that the Yank owners Hicks and Gillette had the club on the verge of Bankruptcy.

I remember the Hicks and Gillette saga very well. I also remember that the sugar daddy you speak of tried to buy Liverpool first but were turned down before going on to purchase Manchester City. The result was Hicks and Gillette feud sabotaged the progress of Rafa Benítez who left. Rafa is easily Liverpool’s most successful manager of this millennium so far.

Fenway Sports Management have ploughed plenty of dough into LFC but it’s interesting speculation to imagine where Liverpool would be if Hicks and Gillette had accepted the Abu Dhabi United Group‘s offer.

27 titles between them, the teams with the most titles in this year version and 4 out of top 5 in history.

Juventus that was expected to have best defense turned out to be the worst defense of the tournament. Bayern vs Sevilla which was considered to be the least competitive tie turned out to be the most competitive tie. City who was expected to sweep every team other than Barca and Madrid bottled themselves. What a competition is this. Telling us the fraudsters and champions.
