Yohan Cabaye

I agree to an extent. He would definitely find himself in Keita's position and get frustrated by it. On the other hand however, Xavi's achillies is still giving him trouble and he won't be able to play every game as he will need rest. I think Xavi needs to just let the thing heal properly and take out however much time is needed for that to happen.

Thiago,Cesc>>Cabaye no trolling I rate Cabaye but still think Thiago would start ahead of him.

Thiago isn't as measured or careful in his passing though. He's improved a lot, but still gives away the ball a bit to much or he's putting too much power on even his short passes. I think Cabaye is a better passer than him and would keep possession better than him.

Cabaye would be the most pointless signing ever and a waste of money considering Xavi, Iniesta, Cesc, and Thiago are all a level above him. Much rather use that money for Martinez.

Cabaye should go to United.

Will Xavi's achilles allow him to be everpresent in the team next season though? I don't think it will unless he takes the required time out for it to heal 100%

Cabaye would probably get more games than you think.

Both are better than Cabaye. Moving to Barcelona would be a waste of his talents, so he should go to a team that actually need him like United or Chelski.

Fabregas hasn't had a good season at Barcelona though. his early goals were the only good thing but his general play was poor. Thiago has looked very promising but I don't think he's better than Cabaye.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew: "Barcelona want Cabaye, obviously it will be hard to keep hold of him, however, if he goes we have alternatives.

"I was impressed by the player who scored against us [Baroni], we'll look into it and depending on the situation could put in an offer."

the quote is from a Turkish Newspaper apparently. I hope he was just being hypothetical and the quotes have been taken out of context by the journalist. I just don't see us selling Cabaye or Cabaye himself envisioning getting decent playing time at Barcelona.

I think I'm the only one who wants Cabaye to come. He's very versatile and can play in any of the midfield roles when needed. With Xavi's achilles problems I think he would be used more often, and if we're not signing a striker we might need to use Cesc up front again and for 10 mil (I think) we would be getting a pretty good midfielder who should probably be getting the idea that he won't be a first team player.Perfect, cheap and more versatile Keita replacement

Fabregas hasn't had a good season at Barcelona though.

This still doesn't mean that Cabaye is a better player or that he will be better than Fabregas in a system which saw better and talented players flop.

Last season Thiago had a better pass accuracy than Busi or Xavi(though Xavi played more passes then him).

In the league:
Thiago: 92.7% PA(1831/1975)
Cabaye:80.4% PA(1167/1451)

I know that Barca and Newcastle don't play the same and the quality of their team mates is different, but we're still talking about a 21 y.o player in his first year with a big club as Barca..so maybe we should give a rest to this myth that Thiago is not a good passer.
