Francisco Trincao: "I prefer to play on the right side, but I'll do whatever the coach asks from me." [fcb]

People complaining about him being slow, yet that video is 10 minutes straight of him destroying whoever is in front of him. Also, his technique when dribbling, passing, crossing or shooting is very good and that is more than you can say for a lot of these 'pacy' wingers.

True. I think he looks slower because he is quite tall or his legs/arms are big. It makes him look slower but most of the time he had more than enough speed to go past players. I don't see him as a slow player at all. Looks excellent.

Imagine if he works out as a player & dembele wasn't a permanent fixture on the injury table, with fati as the 9 which is where i think he will end up.

Whoaaa, two players who can use both feet on the wings, nice.

Sadly this will never happen.

Two footed for me is someone like Dembele who can play on both sides without his overall game dropping his quality.

Trincao is clearly a RW and has never played in the left at least this season, he rarely uses his right foot too.

I prefer goalscoring wingers rather than player like Trincao. All top teams play with goalscoring wingers and outlets which Trincao is not. Liverpool with Mane/Saleh, City, Bayern, Madrid, even us when we most successful had guys like Henry, Eto'o, Neymar, Pedro, Villa etc etc on the wings.

No way Trincao make it here a winger as I see it.

I also feel that our best wide players have been goalscorers. It's why I prefer keeping ansu wide and not turning him into a number 9, even though he has some attributes of a 9. A bit like David Villa was for us. It's hard finding good goalscoring wide players.

I disagree with you on trincao though, I actually feel his goalscoring ability is probably his best attribute. He has excellent composure in front of goal.

Wide players like Pedro and Gnabry didn't start out as high GA wide players. Pedro at Barcelona B output was quite tepid and Gnabry pre-Bundesliga likewise.

Gnabry right now is a 10-12 goal a season and 6-10 assists player.

Trincao just finished his first season at Braga with 8 goals and 8 assists, close to those numbers.

I don't think we can discount his output just yet as with age, experience and better quality surrounding him these can and should grow.

Both Pedro and his prime and Gnabry now are players who constantly are looking to run in behind and constantly offers penetrative runs. They act and move like attackers. Trincao is not of that mold, he wants the ball at his feet and we already have plenty of those players.

There's a myth that you need forwards who score volumes. What do you want, a player who scores hattricks vs Granada, Leganes and Eibar, or a player like Gnabry that scores big goals away in CL in knockout games?

Clutch players are more important than players who score hattricks vs weak teams but are nowhere to be seen vs top sides.

It's the same old quantity vs quality. I'd rather have forwards who don't stat pad vs small sides, but score big goals in big games while doing their job tactically and defensively at all times.

Yea, and they're all veterans on their last legs.
