Well, that makes it even more commendable.

But I don't agree. He sure didn't had that eye catching elite talent, but still a lot of natural talent was there, otherwise Ferguson wouldn't have asked for him. His dribbles made sense, he ran faster than most, jumped higher than most, his heading is top notch, finishing is top notch, rarely misses penalties, has excellent reading of the game. Sure, on paper they look like they can be attained from hard work, but its not that easy. You need massive commitment and mentality to achieve that, otherwise there might be many like him today.

Finishing is not top notch - his chance conversion percentages are consistently low. Scores so many because his movement is top notch, hence gets more chances than most.

can you name 10 players that are infront ronaldo on GOAT list?

Not 10, but 14 and that's attacking players only.

WARNING : The following list may be extremely disturbing to undercover Ronaldo fanboys. Parental discretion is advised

15. Cr7
14. Zidane
13. Cryuff
12. Puskas
11. Ronaldinho
10 Batistuta
9. Van Basten
8. Platini ( underrated in GOAT lists )
7. Romario
6. Zico (arguably the most underated footballer of all)
5. Di Stefano
4. Pele
3. R9
2. Maradona
1. Messi

I would say even Thierry Henry & Luis Suarez are on par with CR7 if not better with their creativity and ruthlessness in front of goal - in their prime.

This is pure talent wise of course. CR7 is a machine when it comes to fitness and his will to achieve the best, it is this mentality that got him so many achievements but his ability per se is definitely over rated.

1. Messi

3. Pele
4. Cristiano

if we are going purely by talent alone

1. Ronaldinho
2. Messi
3. Maradona

if we are going by influence on football history

1. Cruyff

for me, Messi has not only the pure talent but also the numbers and consistency

Cristiano has the numbers and consistency so has to be atleast top 5 but he falls short of Messi/Maradona level magic. i think its more fair to compare Ronaldo and Pele

Luis Suarez on par with Cristiano Ronaldo talent wise? CR7 only the 15th best player of all-time?

Bloody hell, what is going on in this thread...

:lol::lol::lol:

You lot would rightfully be laughed off if you tried spouting this ignorant shite anywhere other than this echo chamber.

For a few years at Arsenal , Henry was definitely at least his equal. Suarez for Liverpool and his first few years at Barca as well, arguably better. Unfortunately neither really had the longevity/ consistency to make the list.

I did. Best player of his generation unanimously recognised. Scored the most goals in history. The best player in one of the greatest teams ever , Brazil 1970. Played in arguably the strongest league in the world most of his career. Scored 2 goals, one a beauty, in a world cup final, aged 17. Won 3 world cups, would have probably won another had he not been kicked to pieces in 66. Is that enough?

Lol at someone who has to Google half these names claiming I haven't watched these players play. I've seen them all - I didn't just pluck them out of the air. That's a very unique list - unaffected by PR and sheep mentality. You need to log back in as messi15428- you had more credibility using that account, which says it all.
