Some of the hyped names from 2-3 years ago have had a mare in recent seasons. Some got sacked in the process.

He hasn't poven that he is a top class manager, but he has proven that he can win big titles vs elite competition. More than I can say for most other managers.

Thing is upgrading on Xavi atm is very difficult. Most managers that could be better are already locked in top jobs.

Brighton manager is hyped atm. Someone like Emery did a lot more than him at a smaller club. He gets huge points because he plays nice football, but does this because he is not under any pressure to deliver titles. Quite different to the type of expectations he'd face at a big team.

I would be interested in Inzaghi and Nagelsmann as replacements, the 1st may not be available, 2nd probably would be. Arteta from Arsenal maybe.

Then you have the class of managers like Michel/De Zerbi/Postecoglu/ETH/Howe that are more of gambles and not guaranteed improvements.

This is always said though and reality is that its not always possible to bring in guaranteed results.
No manager except Pep or Klopp is guaranteed anything. Some of them may be a lot better or a lot worse than Xavi.

Requires detailed evaluation of style of play, fit to the squad, fit to the board, fit to the media.

He gets huge points mainly because he is getting top6 results with a group of mid table or worse players.
If they were 14th or 15th like they should be you would be hearing little about them.
