Gone from the club saying have to give Xavi the money last summer to be competitive at top level.... to Xavi shiting himself about facing Man Utd in Europa League.

As if the draws in Europe always fuck Barca over... and they cant get better of likes of Benfica, Frankfurt and Inter.

Guess what Xavi.... dont get schooled by Frankfurt coach in a poor Europa League and could be in Pot 1 in CL and getting better draws regardless.

He never ceases with the excuses.

Really does think he has it all figured out but the players and the 'luck' of draws are screwing him over.

Sad.

How will the ESL help us exactly? For the ESL to work and generate as much money as it promised, it would have to include the English clubs. And if they are in, they will receive as much money as us, Madrid and Juventus, and their EPL money won't dwindle, so in the end that disparity still exists.

If the English clubs are in the Super League, they won't be in the PL. If all the Super League clubs can spend roughly equal amounts of money, Barca has the bigger pull with club history, great city and weather, and preference from S. American talent.

EPL clubs will never ditch the EPL for the ESL, even if they wanted to. The ESL never aspired or claimed to replace the respective national leagues, just the European-wide competitions.

The biggest reason the clubs want the ESL is because of how financially dominant the EPL is.

Much more so than trying to replace European Competition.

If the EPL was not so financially strong and having such huge pull for players there wouldnt be an issue.

It doesnt need the EPL team though.. if Spanish, Italian and say Dutch, Portugese even SPL teams split off it would result in two competitions and that ESL would get huge money.

Thats way only way can see it heading. A split in European football if ESL goes ahead.

Yeah, only way it can work is like a replacement for the CL, who has run its course in the current format imo.

It's mostly designed against PSG. Both Barca and Madrid got hard done by the PSG limitless spending and UEFA corruption combo, and ESL would drive both out of the equation.

PSG made it clear they don't care to play by the rules, starting with the Neymar saga. Now with the Mbappe saga it's clear this is their method of action. Drive others out of competition for stars by way of flooding the market with oil money. This affects clubs like Barca and Madrid who suddenly can't afford to support their preferred method of building great sides, which always was hunting the best players.

Nah mainly it is EPL but aims to get stricter spending rules for likes of PSG as well.

EPL will be by far and away main driving force behind it.

The talent in La Liga is horrendous and becoming more of an irrelevance evey passing season.

While EPL teams facing relegation have Spanish, Brazilian internationals and a competition people want to watch and it is only getting a bigger divide.

What limitless spending from PSG did Real get hit by for them to favour the ESL? PSG spend a lot and need to be reigned in but they are not the same threat as EPL and what it is doing in comparision to likes of La Liga as a whole.

It isn't designed against PSG. It is designed to restore the balance of talent pools due to EPL pull factors.

Mostly Real, Barca and such bricking it that players in their league instead of remaining where they are to raise their competition prestige level, prefer to instead go England where will be paid better and compete more often.

Qatarman twerking for them

Xavi: "When I was in Qatar, I felt at home. I think it will be a historic World Cup. I will try to go to see the Qatar and Spain national teams."

Maybe the best thing to happen to barcaisnthe Manchester draw. Anybody who thinks there is any hint of possibility to win is a complete idiot. At least these Catalan clowns will maybe come to realize that the thie Barca dna thing is complete garbage. Especially when I see jorginho links it makes me wanna kill myself

Barca will be decent favourites.

How many Man Utd players get in Barcas strongest line up?

Martinez or Varane and hard pushed after that.

Casimero is a name more than anything. Not a great player but some will think him.

After that....Rashford over Fati/Torres/Raphinha on form maybe.

The ESL would've turned into a full league within a year or 2. In the format they announced, there were going to be 18 matches guaranteed per team, which is already half a league season.

The ESL might've run concurrently with domestic league seasons for a couple of years while it founds its footing, but its pretty obvious the end goal was a full league season plus playoff style knockouts where the clubs only play in the ESL.

It's the team and tactics that matter, individuals second. Add the fact that we have no mental or physical intensity in Europe.

He came in all hustle and bustle saying he was ready for 5he job. Now it's sinking into his brain that management at the top level especially at Barca is different. He is way out of his depth and now he's in damage control mode.
The draws, the refs, the injuries, the Eintracht fans etc etc
He should go back to Qatar. That's his level.
