Xavi Hernandez

He disappointed me tonight in approaching casually the game and not introducing any tactical nuance, still with the same ineffective 4-3-3 that had problems in germany.

We wasted a good 60 minutes because of that

The 3-5-2 we finished the game with both Dembele Adama out wide, and Depay behind Luuk
was HOW XAVI SHOULD HAVE started the game even with different names.

we need better midfielders, but pedri and gavi need experience, you can't expect them to ball out in europe at the age they're at right now

True, but we also need to shut up and stop overrating them so much. We got massively over the top after the Clasico. Gavi is a top talent, but is raw, and his salary should reflect that. Pedri has genius moments, but also moments when he hides and doesn't do much to get involved.

We had people here naming Adama Traore in their long term starting XI because of the first few games he had here. Overhyping and overrating is a serious problem here lol

When likes of Pedri do well folk are tripping over themselves to make out Xavi is the reason as coaching him how to be a top player... when he doesnt play well the it is about him being over rated.

All with Xavi in mind to either credit or deflect blame.

love how every time we lose you downplay quality of collective. When we win you mention how team is good enough to win prizes and all was to blame on koeman.

We had people posting over and over again how we should sign Gavi/Araujo at any cost. Completely missing the point that they haven't showed anything to be paid like world class players and a reasonable wage structure should be respected.

They have bags of talent and could become world class with time but right now they are nothing more than raw talents. To be paid like the best in the world they should show it first.

Midfield is pretty thin actually. Only De Jong is truly world class. When he is not playing we simply can't rely on 17 old Gavi or 34 old Busquets. Kessie not good enough. Nico not good enough.

Depends on what we want. Are we reasonably happy with making the top 4, competing for the league knowing we're not favorites against Madrid, maybe winning a Copa del Rey or something like that?

If yes, we can play these players and help them grow and develop on a game-by-game basis. But if we want to fight for the big trophies really fast you need top-class players. Those can be very expensive. That much is certain.

Interesting game for him and the club for sure.

I personally won't overreact, there's still a ton to be really happy about this season, but I sincerely hope we draw the right conclusions from this. It was always naive to think we have fixed all our issues in a few months. But it's easy to get carried away.
