I know Xavi loved Frenkie, but club tried to sell him off. Then if Xavi thought Pedri lacking fitness for Barca he would try to have him gone regardless of Frenkie.

You are assuming if any of this is true Xavi believed Pedri had fitness issues in summer of 2022 or thought by that point it was an issue to be considered.

What is reported by some is that by 2024 and near seasons end is when Xavi had Pedri name on list of possible sales due to concerns about fitness.

I find unlikely scenario in which Xavi would keep Frenkie(who he also could have doubted fitness with injuries), value Gavi, then want to get rid of Pedri but bring in possibly Zubimendi who is closer to Frenkie in profile(but Busi needed replacement tbf).

Would just be very weird management overall.
Was also report out at time by journalist of pedri being one of players Xavi absolutely didn’t want gone. But I could be wrong on timeline.

Frenkie injuries were not the same under Xavi.

There was definite friction with Pedri and injuries at least from Pedri side. He has made comment about the training under Flick and reports at time under Xavi that Pedris environment were unhappy.

Yes there was friction, but at the time I read into it as Pedri feeling misused by Xavi and blaming him for hampering his development and getting back to full fitness.

As far back as start of season 2024 there were claims made by Xavi and entourage Pedri was fed falsities. Could be that that caused part of the friction.

Also when did Xavi supposedly wanted to put pedri on that list? mid-season window? It is around time when he announced he wouldn’t continue at barca right? Weird timing to want to pull that move when future already shakey. Or could be that that move led to a lot of backlash internally that Xavi thought staying at barca not sustainable anymore.

You could be right, but would be very surprised to hear if were true.

Pedri wasn't the commodity under Xavi, as he spent most of his time on the injury list. No such thing you can sell damaged goods for 80m.

Meanwhile there were rumours of Araujo and Bayern interest and Frenkie linked to Man Utd.
