This will never hold up as a legitimate narrative. From the start he was a failure by Bartomeu at 31M, even at Wolves he could not recover. The financial burden the club was left in meant shedding it of players & salaries that were not adding sporting value

Tebas blocking registration forced a shrewd move by Barça to unlock the needed registration of Marcus but no doubt they made a deal under duress as his market value should’ve translated to closer to 20M for that 50%. But money in the hand as they say much less the uncertainty of getting 40M

Which would still be a lot of money lost even at 50m.

Making out it is shrewd is absolute nonsense. It is losing money with deals should not be.
