Tbf, I said 20 years based on El Flaco's post  I meant the 9 years he's played in his senior career.

- Had he loved Pool, he would have stayed put forever like Gerard
Players like Gerard are the exception, and them staying forever as a one-club player is something outstanding. You can't expect that to be the norm. For every Gerard, there is a Luis Suarez, a Lewandowski, a Henry, a Cristiano Ronaldo, a David Beckham, a Zidane, a Fabregas, a Mbappé, a Kaká, a Xabi Alonso, a Mascherano... all of them were star players who played at top clubs, but chose to leave to join Barça/Madrid. Can't blame TAA for wanting to leave.

If it were not for Klopp, Trent would be playing for Blackburn now. Klopp promoted him, Klopp changed his position to meet the demands of modern football without exposing his huge shortcomings, Klopp tolerated him developing with all the mistakes
Klopp MADE him in any possible way.
Klopp is not there anymore.

- Had he been AT LEAST any grateful to Klopp and to the boyhood club that gave him a chance to become a professional footballer, he would have at least notified them 1-2 years ago that he wants to go, renewed with a clause and allowed them to collect at least some decent fee out of him

Instead, the sneaky cunt pretended he was undecided until the last moment. While he had been learning Spanish for 2 or more years
I agree that it was cuntish that he ran down his contract (although, Mbappé and Lewandowski did the same thing) and did not say anything.

@Temptation
Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t Gerrard’s family get threatened then he decided to stay

Signing mercenaries never ends well. They don't play for the badge, they play for themselves. Trent will try to get away with doing the least defensive work possible without raising excessive criticism.

If we'd offered him a huge signing on fee he would probably be here, for instance. But I'd much rather someone who bleeds for the shirt as my right back. Even if that someone is as limited as Eric Garcia. :pep:

TRENT: “I grew up watching this club winning 3 Champions Leagues in a row. A big reason why I joined is to join an exciting young team to win trophies.”

Didn't RM win their 3rd in a row against Liverpool ?

Fucking LMAO.

Take that together with his old one:

I don't remember that.
He had 2 or 3 times the chance to leave for better teams and better money. He always chose to stay.

Most of the players you mention, like Suarez Lewa Fabregas Kaka Alonso Mascherano, etc. left for BIGGER clubs that were fighting for the biggest trophies possible.
Only obvious exception to this is Cristiano (arguably UTD was top3 in Europe in 2009 when he left, and Madrid were top16 at best).

Here, you have a self-proclaimed scouser, who spent his entire life in Liverpool, who wants to leave a top4 club in Europe right now to go to another (top8 right now) club in Europe that is a direct rival in Europe.
Nothing to do with cases like Suarez, where Liverpool were 1 or 2 tiers below the top clubs.

Same with Gerard, he refused to leave 2 or 3 times for Madrid Chelsea that were at least 1 tier above that Liverpool team and were fighting for every trophy available

Yes, that is true. He wanted to leave to go to Mou's Chelsea but gangsters in Liverpool threatened to hurt him badly if he did.

And it wasn't an idle threat. Gangsters in Liverpool are well known as the most hardcore in England.

OK I didn't know that.
But he also refused Madrid a couple of times.
Did gangsters show up in all these cases?

Gerard is in and around the gangsters scene in Liverpool. Has been all his life. He knows many of them personally and grew up amongst them. Would have probably been in a gang himself if he wasn't a footballer.

The gangsters in Liverpool have tremendous power, more than gangsters from other areas of England, apart from the main gang in London, who EVERYONE is scared of, even other gangs. ( Clerkenwell Syndicate ) .

You'd think someone as rich and famous as Gerrard would just be able to tell the gangsters to fuck off and hire extra security. But it doesn't work like that in Liverpool. Gerrard was absolutely shitting himself and quickly said he wouldn't move to Chelsea.

Why didn't they show up at Trent's place now?

Why didn't they show up at Trent's place now?

Because Chelsea under Mou was one of Liverpool's great rivals. Basically, Utd, Everton, then Chelsea. If Trent was to go to one of them clubs, they probably would threaten him.

Trent is going abroad, and everyone seems to have bought the smoke he is selling that he is moving for his career to experience ' the biggest club in the world '.

Also, times are a bit different now. Everything has been watered down. The gangsters aren't as embedded in the city's football culture or the city's footballers as much as they were 20 years ago.
