He's a rat but we'll miss his insane passing range and ability. Now that KDB has declined, he's probably the best passer in the world. He's genuinely a better passer/crosser than the "world class" midfielders today. The variety is incredible. Having watched him week in week out I can't deny this.

Long passing of his is great from right-back in deep positions on both feet, where he can see the whole pitch, and the crossing, but short two touch pass and move in tight areas is a completely different skillset (so I very much disagree he's a better passer than midfielders, depends on the type of passing). That's why he will never ever be able to be a good central midfielder or number 10.

Trent is basically Beckham 20 years later but with more athleticism, but the work-rate isn't on the same level. Beckham edges him for both crossing and passing, he was ridiculous at those things, but TAA is on that same sort of level.

I hope between Alonso and Tuchel they can make him better defensively, for England's sake. Yes, it's shit that he is going on a free and not getting the club 100 million, but that's on the club as much as the player himself.

Beckham another one of those players that have seemingly gotten underrated over the years due to him being a celebrity.

Trent is a fantastic passer, but he's not close to Beckham's level.

To be fair I seen Beckham, top player though he was, play a lot of pointless Hollywood passes straight to the defenders head for England.

He's another glory ball merchant who didn't have short pass and move game to play cm and dictate play. They tried him there in 99 cl final when scholes and Keane were suspended and Bayern fucking destroyed him.

But yes, Beckham was world class. But not in a CM short passing role.
