I remember when Southgate first used him in midfield and Klopp starting publicly criticising the move. Then a couple of years later started doing it himself.

Imagine a world where Barca signs TAA on a free transfer and pairs him up with Yamal. That right side would have as much talent as has been seen in world football since Messi/Alves.

Kounde is a fine player but say Araujo is sold at some point he could slot in with Cubarsi at RCB very nicely.

He has plenty of leverage if he's out of contract. Can sign for a new club that promises him to play CM (if he really wants that).

Being bad defensively doesn't mean he is a winger. A player like him is way better coming from deep than being forward, same for Cancelo.

With that said, and as good as TAA (and he is elite) I think he will be awful fit in our team. And starting RB is set with Kounde anyway. More pressing holes to cover.
