Quenda to Chelsea.

Essugo too for 22m. He'll join them this summer while Quenda will move to London in 2026. Probably why his price is a bit lower than expected (€48m) because Sporting will keep him for another season.

As much as I dislike Chelsea think they are both good signings.

I like them both, but Essugo didn't even succeed in Sporting and half a season in LP made Chelsea think he is ready for their first team? It is just weird.
If Quenda stays on the left, he might have a chance to succeed, he is a big talent and I am a fan, but they also brought Estevao, they are same age, with similar traits.

PSG going in for Mastantuono apparently. Would have hoped to see either him and Echeverri come here. If he ends up in the 50 mil range though, would also be a bit much.

He has a buyout around 45M iirc.

This what I've been saying about Barcola though, as he his role diminish, PSG will just go for the next shiny toy and sell him.

This is a true, finances essentially rule us out in the race of "premium " prospects.

Tye likes of Estevao, Mastantuono, Echeverri, Arda or even Bergvall. They aren't signed because of need but as an opportunity and hope to get a future star. In a team that is depleted financially, we are niether capable of giving them the biggest offer, and not even a clear first team path due to registration issues. We have to go for more shrewd signings like Diarra, Faye & Darvich.

When we signed a young player based on need, we ended up with Roque.

It is a bit like the draft in the NBA, you should go for best available player rather than need, but we have 2nd round picks.

One of the very few and rare posts here to understand the context and the severe constraints Barca have in dreaming of top signings. Until things get better financially, this shall be the reality.

Forgot Mastantuono was still just 17.

From what I have been reading he has been excellent this year.

Obviously not someone for us, you just don't get an offensive midfielder prospect when you have just signed Olmo and are struggling where to fit Guille, Diarra, Toni and the rest in the production line.

A Chelsea or PSG guy basically.

He's kind of everywhere though ala Di Maria?

To be honest I'm not really following him and only started digging into him again last week after the Boca win.

I'm extremely cautious with Argentina league these days as it's much worse than Brazil speed and space wise.

Can't wait to see Echeverri, Estevao and him in Europe. They look like a real deal, just questionable decisions off the pitch, don't think EPL (Chelsea for Estevao) in the best for them.

Speed, I agree. Space wise, not sure what exactly you mean.

In terms of quality, Argentina league is much better than the previous decade with better coaches.

The economy in Argentina and the weird league format that Tapia has formatted are the biggest hurdles so far in growing the league.

Mastantuono won't go to PSG or Chelsea, he'll probably go to Atletico Madrid
