Spanish Supercopa Final: Real Madrid - Barca 4-1

Defense is absolutely shambolic.
Every time they break have 6 or 7 players sprinting back behind them as if we've put the whole 10 outfielders in attack... yet we arent using that superiority on the ball.

Baffling. Too many players standing in no man's land and no organisation at all. End up having to sprint back from being advanced when weren't doing anything in the first place.

Xavi's OOP structure has always been amateurish.
He has to learn a lot to become a decent, let alone a top, coach.
He has to start elsewhere from scratch

Doesn't make sense to play Araujo as a fullback to stop a guy who has a hattrick already in the first half.

If Real put another 2 or 3 past us maybe Laporta will wake up from his slumber and sack Xavi.
At another club this would be a given. There was only that three month period where 5he team looked settled under Xavi, otherwise its been chaotic and helter-skelter.

Defense is a shambles because of individual fuck-ups above anything else. 2 of their goals have been gifts from our CBs.

Almost irrelevant but other than that defensive fuck ups not playing too badly.. lack threat out wide though when going forward.

no, defense is played too high to defend against such pacy wingers and good long ball passers. we played an offside trap in their half. let that sink in. xavi is bad. playing the same tactic for 3 years against Madrid and expecting it to still work.

And you think the manager instructed them to play an offside trap there?

It's a poor interpretation of an in-game situation by some very questionable players.

Xavi deserves blame for signing someone like Kounde. He's a bad transfer. Makes stupid individual errors time and time again.

Araujo is in very bad form also. The pen he made was some dumb shit. You are a huge athletic dude and you need to pull tiny Vinicius to beat him in the air?

Could have played high if proper pressure was applied and the keeper could sweep.
None of that happened, and we looked silly

Xavi can't comprehend defense basics

The team is all over the place when defending in transition. Who is at fault for that? I see only one, the deer in the headlights manager of ours

No, but he instructed them to play that high, and these questionable players are ones he brought himself.
