Our assessment of Roberto is different from almost every coach and SD we had. Roberto was asked from the start to take 30% cut on 3 years including this one, and till his injuries started he was actually a valuable squad player who is being used more than it should be.
2 years extension for someone who just turn 30 in few months on decent wage sounds good to me.

Other than that, Laporta actually has been known to be ruthless with the players he has.

Fair enough to each his own. Let's see how he will deal with these Barca veterans in the coming years.

Don't think it disapproves the article I posted. Yes his salary will be deferred this year but he will be earning more and more and will end up being one of the best paid players in the team while his performances decline as the years go by.

People given Perez too much credit here, he wanted to renew Ramos contract, just with a bit lower wages(and contract length?), so he wanted him to stay, just at at too high of a cost.

Perez had some logic in handing a one year contract, Ramos turns 36 in March 2022. He values himself a bit too much. Nobody is eternal, although in this inferior La Liga he could play until 38 with ease. But then Ramos could start bitching about diminished minutes and poison the locker room.

Damn, it's like his supply of steroids became unavailable the moment he left RM

One of the greatest falling off the map stories in football, considering when RM won LL in 19/20 (~1.25 years ago), he was only second to VVD for me as a defender.

Villarato!
If you’re Ramos this is a huge W.
Not playing for a year, haggling with your boss, getting what you wanted from the next employer and settling for a mutual termination that satisfies him or a simple payout?

Take him back and forget it ever happened lmao

You're welcome
Basically they want to terminate his contract because he is acting like a bitch within the group.

Been saying for years this dude ain't fly.

Releasing out of contract a player of his magnitude should be backed by some very concerning physical data. If rumours are true then PSG are complete fools and Ramos tricked them into buying a dead horse, who's about to walk away with millions in cash.

True. Curious if this was totally based on Ramos physical state or something else happened in the locker room.
