Mathieu? :lol: Get real. He's not used to this level and it showed both against PSG and against Madrid. And it will show again the next big game we play. He is decent, that's it. Not anywhere near of being the best defender we have.

Don't think it's fair to compare a centre back with a left back.

I seem to remember many people wanting him to play LB against Madrid. I said it was a horrific idea and... well... it was a horrific idea. He has slow reflexes and while he is a good header, his slow reflexes will cost us in big games, when the other team has a Cavani, Ibra, Lewndowski type of player, who's as strong and much better in terms of quickness. I don't quite understand on what basis has he become our best player in defence? By what measurement? He can head the ball better, but that's pretty much it as far as a comparison with Mascherano is concerned.

I wanted him to play as a CB vs real.That average height crap never amused me.Not fair that you bring in mathieu's classico's performance in light where he was told just before the match that he will be playing as a LB.He has proved solid as a CB and his small errors have reduced now.Masch has been good too but mathieu takes the cake for me.

The only thing mathieu needs to work on is to not get dribbled so easily.Mathieu has better sliding tackles,speed etc.You can call masche better but I will call mathieu.In the end its just opinion.

This. Knowing that Busquets hasn't been truly world class for a very long time, I'd choose Mascherano but if we can play both (for exemple in away C1 matches), then it would be the best deal .

Lol, Busi on 50% would win vs Masch. Only thing Masch has is his fearless tackling and that he is more agressive.

It isn't Busquets fault that Lucho plays the central midfielders out wide, resulting that he has no one to pass to. Sergio suffers under Lucho's tactics, and he isn't the only one.
