Objectively speaking, what would an owner do in this situation when a coach cannot get the best of the group of players at his disposal - players that are well paid with big contracts & egos? Easier & cheaper to change the coach, especially since it was by ‘mutual decision’. That’s because of relationship with club, unlike say Koeman

Arbeloa replacing Alonso who got sacked. If somebody told me that 10-15 years ago I'd laugh.

The only option for Arbeloa is to cater to the players. I think the players will have full power now. His job will be to keep them happy and not challenge them.
