Arsenal not putting Rice further forward and him on set pieces in 2nd half was bizarre.

Surely want as much physicality in box/final third when have to be launching balls in against the deep defensive line.

TBH, I have absolutely no idea what either coach was playing at today.

I get your point but to be fair he does tend to take right footed inswinging corners, as he's that good at them. Not sure about free kicks.

Arsenal look decent I think.

As it stands they and Liverpool look the best two.

They have some good fixtures coming up after Newcastle away to put a run together.

I kinda understand Pep (despite he must have hit himself on the head somewhere to go for full on Mourinho). But Mikael "this is our year" Arteta against this shit-ish City is just an indication that they will flop again.

Pep is panicking. Hit some woeful transfers with players that don't fit his possession system. So he has no choice now than alter his tactics to fit the personnel instead.

Arsenal is just a low chance creating side now. Quite odd. They played their best football 2 years ago.

Competition went to shite at the top. Slot is in a position to win more EPL titles than Klopp did in just 2 seasons.

Exactly. And that's why he went full Mourinho after 60th minute. Arteta on the other hand, went full Mourinho after equalizer at home. Not something that winning sides do.

I know everyone says it about them, but still doubt Arsenal have the winning mentality to actually get over the line and win the league.

The nearer it gets the more they'll be reminded 'it's been 22 years'. They might fold. They don't have any players of real experience of winning things either (other than the Spanish lads at the Euros).

But you just don't know. Myself though, I'd be backing Liverpool - better football in general, better coach, experience of winning stuff, can win when playing poorly, more game changers.

Yeah what you and @khaled_a_d said might be true. Rather than me thinking he's adapting to physicality, maybe he's being pragmatic knowing he hasn't got the players to play the possession game that he did in the past. Bit of both.

Think the Spurs game scared the life out of Pep.

Spurs took them on man for man and pressed high up. They didnt have the technical midfield or 1v1 players to break it.

Maybe thought they had it all sorted when pumped Wolves.. but everyone is doing that.

Now he seems lost and not believing they are team he wants on front foot.

Can all turn round quicky but looks a long way off.

For about first time Pep looks like he is seeing ways to lose the game rather than win it.
