Btw it is an insult to Barcelona to compare its worst days to the likes of AC Milan’s and Man United’s worst days. Barcelona even when they were not winning a league title for 14, 11 and 6 years always qualified for European competition.

Barcelona is the only team to play a European competition every year since 1955.

Also, United will play only PL games now, until January. I noticed it in pre-season, but with EFL Cup and FA Cup and lacking European nights, United could only play a maxlmum of about 50 games this season. That's down to 45 now (38 PL + 1 EFL Cup + 6 FA Cup, and that's only if they make the final of latter).

There's a very strong chance United could play only 40 competitive games this season (the minimum for any PL team). And look how big their squad is lol.

- Get Michael Carrick as manager
- Sell Bruno to Saudi for big money
- Sell Onana at all cost and get Dibu Martinez
- Trust the youth
- Play 4-3-3

Fernandes is nothing special and actually a very poor hit and hope merchant, one of the most overrated players I have seen since starting watching football. However, trying to hype up Mainoo is not the way to go either, for me. Saying he's their best midfielder is like saying Peter Dinklage is the tallest guy at a dwarf convention. He's a completely average player who had some good (albeit inevitably overpraised, as he was playing for United and England) months and is now being found out for the incredibly average player he is. He's a mid-table player. He hasn't got the engine or athleticism to play in a midfield two either. If he played for Fulham or Bournemouth, United wouldn't even look in his direction. They will go nowhere with players like him and almost every other player in their squad, and I am loving it.

Sesko will flop too and he will be deadwood like Hojlund in two years - when Hojlund signed two years ago and they were talking him up as the new R9, I said he looks like a complete donkey. Fast forward two years and I have been vindicated. Same will happen with Sesko, mark my words. He looks like an overly tall oaf and beyond that, that club is doomed when it comes to transfers anyway. Not one has worked out post Ferguson (including the overrated fernandes).
Well that's what I meant. Mainoo is the least bad of the bunch. Their midfield stinks from top to bottom. And yet they bought a striker that needs plenty of service. So yeah, it's gonna end in tears. The defense could be fixed to some degree with abandoning 3 at the back, but you still need a decent CDM, which Casemiro isn't anymore.

That said, I'm baffled how Šeško and this team didn't see this while picking a club.

Yeah fair enough mate. I was in a pumped up mood when I posted that as I was still laughing at them losing. The officials attempted to help them as much as they could, though.

Sesko deserves everything he gets for going there. I don't rate him anyway based on what i saw from him before he signed, but as far as I am concerned every player who goes there now is a mercenary because they know it's a basket case club and players deteriorate there. They know they'll be turned into a laughing stock there. Why else would they go but for money? Unless they genuinely believe they can help turn the club around, in which case they're delusional rather than greedy.

They're just over as a club. The English media doesn't help them by talking them up every time they get a result either - just leads the club into a false sense of security and causes them to buy the hype, and hence fail over and over again. Truly THE soap opera club.

TBH, the only short term solution for United IMO is to cash in on Bruno ASAP, get a decent CDM, get a good goalkeeper and Brexit it out for a while, before they lose the little credibility they have left.

True, they'll still be poor, but playing a midfield two with Fernandes as one of them is making them worse. He's a slightly above average AM (lots of flaws there), but an awful CM.

They should have sold him and got a proper midfielder with the cash. Maybe they could still have got Mbeumo too. As always, sentiment and cluelessness hamstrings them.

Their keepers are obviously awful too. They don't have many good players, but their biggest weaknesses are likely goalkeeper, central midfield, striker, and the wing-backs. I don't rate their defenders much but they're stronger than those other areas, and they are well stocked for AM or winger (Amad, Fernandes moved back there, Cunha, Mbeumo).

Amad, Cunha and Mbeumo are their three best players imo. None of them are world beaters but good ability. They might ruin them all, though.

But unfortunately for them Amad and Mbeumo play in the same part of the pitch - Amad is really wasted as a right wing-back and clearly hates playing there. I don't think he's that great but a cut above most of the garbage in their squad.

Edit: Yoro too.

Agreed. And switching to back 4. That's the tactical adjustment. Now an average team with decent wingers runs through them. Playing back 3 just to accomodate Maguire is plain stupid. Yorro and De Ligt with a decent CDM in front is a decent defense.
