Weren't you saying I wasn't a hipster a few months ago, when I agreed with you on Bellingham? 😂

Just say you haven't seen him play 12 games, you got caught in a very obvious lie.

No one can see him in 12 games and never been impressed, it's literally mpossible and a obvious lie.

But anyways, not doing the 10,000 back & forth with you, ain't got the time for that.
I generally agree with you on plenty of stuff, just not this.

I do agree with you on Bellingham.

The point is you're probably impressed by him running the show against Cremonese for MIlan, whereas I am not. hence the difference in opinion.

Like Jam Dav said, his team finished 8th in Serie A last season, how good could he and they have been, really? Maybe he was brilliant and let down by his team-mates but it's a hugely risky signing by Pep, and you know that.

He was hot and cold last season and still one of the best midfielders in the league.

Went off the boil a bit when they started playing Felix at 10.

Was better than likes of Barella who was bang average for example.

Dont think he has seen much of him.

Didnt even really know his position for Milan last season and claimed would be better for Barca than Frenkie.
I find a lot of football fans these days take a liking to certain players they've barely seen, or only watched on highlights videos. Then they start obsessing over that player or players like they're their relatives. Constructing a narrative like they know all about that player.

Not saying that's what jamrock is doing here but a lot of football fans do that.

You love de Jong but as a Barca fan at least you'll have seen loads of him. And he's a much bigger talent than this Reijnders fella (and only a year older).

I could understand it if this guy is a kid but he was born in 1998. He's not got much improvement to go. All in all a very weird signing that proves City are losing the plot, like some of their other signings.

I am not denying he has some degree of talent. But by the elite standards City are expected to operate at (winning PLs and CLs), he's average and doesn't have it.

He's a top 4 Serie A level type of player, imo.

Same goes for a lot of the other guys they have signed. Decent players, just not big title winning players.

Oh my bad, I didn't know where a team finished in the league was a indication of each individual player quality in that side.

My bad on that

I guess top teams should only buy players from each other now.

Don't listen to jamdav he's "special" and gets hurt whenever a player comes close to de Jong.

The obsession is trying to find as many players as can to claim better than Frenkie in this case. Maybe he can be this season but it would be the first time.

Far worse than Reijnder had that shout though to be fair.

You literally argued that Kessie was better than Barca midfielders as won Serie A as evidence of it.

Dont cry when you get it wrong about players better than Frenkie.

Obviously I was being facetious with that.

But the point is, do you see this guy being a factor in a team that wins PL or CL? He's fine if you wanna fight for top 4 I guess, but he's never gonna be of the level of their past players.

Jamrock has such little clue he thinks Reijnders can play the role Frenkie does for Barca better than he does.... didnt even know where Reijnders played.

Has history of commenting on players doesnt watch or even know where plays. Not the first time.

Fair enough.

Maybe 'average' was harsh. He's a good player in general but relative to their past players who won huge trophies, he's mediocre.

He'd be fine for Spurs or Villa who aren't expected to win anything.

I think you are both good posters. I just don't see it with this guy (at the level City operate I mean).

I agree that De Jong is a much better player than this guy, too.

I think him and Rodri can play well together and would think he will have a good season once Pep figures it out.

Maybe

I don't particularly like them but suppose I prefer them to the three red teams and Chelsea, so hope they can figure it out.

I have nothing against Reijnders, and to be fair it is very unfair to judge him relative to elite players like Toure, Rodri, Silva etc. But unfortunately for him that is the level City fans are now used to and expect. If he doesn't shape up over coming games he will be facing criticism.

I dont think City fans expect Reijnders to be on the level of those other players and he can still be a success without it.

He is already getting criticism rom city fans after game v Spurs and today but that is harsh so early and they are arrogant and expect to win.
