I thought he'd be ok (nothing special but get top 8 last season) but he seems worse than Ten Hag.

He hasn't got a clue and his formation and style doesn't fit any of their players. I don't rate most of their players but jairzinho is right that at least a 4231 would fit their players better.

This guy is obsessed with three at the back, like some sort of amateur hipster. The hilarious thing is he hasn't got a clue how to play it effectively and has square pegs in round holes all over the place

Yep. Lose to Burnely and he's out. He would be better off playing 4-2-3-1 with Bruno as 10 with Cunha, Mbeumo on either side and Sesko up front.

They can't sack him so soon, spent too much money on specific players to fit his system, another coach is going to come in and want different players, cycle repeats

To be fair a lot of their players can fit into a four at the back system, because many of their players played it under Ten Hag.

Whether they can do well in a four at the back is another matter. But certainly most of them fit it better than a three.

Even if they sack him, the next guy will be just as clueless. Like Amorim was meant to be the chosen one after Ten Hag, and Ten Hag after Ole and Ralf. The club is cursed and finished.

I think this is United's best team, with best formation, in their current guise. I'd still expect them to struggle massively to play good football. However, this is their best bet for me

4231

Onana (all goalkeepers are awful but he's best of a turgid bunch)
Dalot (Dalot is rubbish and I rate Amad much more but he's not a full-back) Yoro (one of their few good players, has talent Yoro) De Ligt Shaw (don't rate him but Dorgu is horrendous)
Mainoo Casemiro (truthfully all their midfield options are awful)
Mbeumo/Amad Fernandes Cunha
Sesko (looks hopeless to me and doomed to flop but at least he's a focal point)

A lot of those players I don't rate but I think that's about the best they can put out as a starting 11.

Honestly, Utd should get Michael Carrick as their manager after Amorim eventually flops.

He's doing a great job at Middlesbrough, has modern ideas, club legend, and already had experienced coaching Utd as interim coach.

Would be another Ole. Club 'legend' doing well at a smaller club but absolutely tactically clueless and out of his depth when moving up.

Carrick is more proven than Ole ever did when Ole joined Utd.

Plus, Carrick had the balls to drop CR7 from his starting lineup.
Carrick always struck me a simple-minded type. He looks gormless and sounds it when he talks, too.

I think he'd struggle. But yeah, at this point they have exhausted most options. He can't be any worse than the others I guess.
