Pep has been good in Bayern, but not equalling the greatest succes-stories in their clubs history, and if that disappoints the fans, then fair enough - you just have to realize how massive that kind of expectations are.
Footballfans outside Spain underestimates Atlético year in and year out, they are a very solid team, and every team in the world could loose to them. Quite arrogant to think Bayern easily could put them aside, their fans have too high expectations, something our fans also suffer from once in a while. It is a fine goal to be in the final or win it, but no club in the world can expect a CL-win.
CL aside, I see many fans not giving enough credit to Dortmund - the stat about how they would have won the league in most other seasons with their points shows that it still is an achievement to win the Bundesliga and not something you do with your left hand, as some suggest every manager could do with those Bayern-players.

Most Bayern fans don't care about his domestic achievements. Truth is Bayern really didn't need to hire Pep Guardiola on a massive salary to achieve the domestic results that they did.
It's hard to call Pep's tenure a complete failure because of his domestic results, but he was definitely a failure in European competition. Bayern were atrocious in away ties over 3 years and then beat their opponents at the Allianz (with the exception being Madrid) and managed to progress.
The only issue is that when you get into the semi-finals and you are facing top teams, you can't afford to fuck up the away leg of the tie.
In 3 semi-final away ties under Pep, Bayern scored 0 goals and lost all 3 games which came back to cost them dearly in the home leg.
It's very poor, especially for a European juggernaut like Bayern.

Suarez was 1 on 1 and had a free header at a corner while Neymar also had a huge chance set up by Suarez.Alves also had a great chance(Not sure how it is a bit of a chance lol) and there probably were a couple more.

A lot of people in that thread seem to be severely brain damaged.
Picture is always gonna be skewed if made shortly after such a disappointment.
I am glad we haven't turned on Lucho after our own defeat vs. Atletico but then again we are still riding on our treble wave.
Thing to consider, this was our first loss vs. Atlético after 7 consecutive wins. What would Pep's tally look like after 8 games vs. Cholo?

Yes. But this is nuts, and the media reaction as well. If I told any Bayern fan in the pre-Heynckes days that a possible domestic double + CL-semis would be considered a crap season they would have declared me insane, and rightfully so.
And after reading through some german commentaries about Pep, an entirely different angle that was superficially buried till now finally surfaces: His politics and ideology (support of Catallan independence) and an alleged lack of basic human decency is now criticized, for no apparent reason I might add. To be honest, I expected this stuff to pop up way earlier in his reign, so no surprise there. But it is interesting to me how far people will go to rationalize their blind hatred.
The same press, after ignoring him for years when he coached Barca claiming that any random pub league coach could win the treble with Barca and then suddenly changed their opinion and hailed him as the messiah when he signed up with Bayern, now turns on him again and he is reduced to one of many.
In the end, Pep lasted waaay longer than I would have ever expected. The time for his departure is exactly right. At least this way, he can bypass the worst part and is spared to have shit thrown at him from every possible direction like Van Gaal in his last year.

I just don't understand some of the reasoning here. Pep is considered a loser for exiting in the semis again, with a strong team like Bayern. What is Barca then, for exiting in the quarters with what was easily the best team in the world for most of the season? Exiting in the quarters twice in three years with squads that other European clubs (that made it further) would kill for?

That 7 wins can be a bit misleading, though. It's impressive, but the 3 games where most was on the line for both teams - CL 2014, League 'final' 2014, CL 2016 - they came out on top in all 3.
