Villa reportedly wanted to negotiate down from the BO and Celta reportedly wanted BO or nothing. So I guess that is why the deal broke down.

Question is, if Celta are being greedy, because the only reason for the large sell on clause of Barca, is because they got the player for free in the first place.

Dont count on it. Good enough not all footballers are stupid enough not to realise you are always a "reject" where you were once kicked out as not good enough.
