Nico Williams

I'm one of the few who has some issues with him. First, I don't like his personality. Him bending the knee to CR7 at half time of a final is such a p*ssy move. You need to be focused on the match, not kissing the a** of your main competitor. Second, he is not really some major difference maker for Athletic Bilbao. He's a great player, but I would argue that his brother Inaki has a far greater legacy for Bilbao than Nico. Actually, I would argue that with Inaki signing for us back in 17/18 we would've won that 2019 CL.

I would put Leao or even Rashford more attractive options than him (considering everything including the potential massive cost of signing Nico).
massive cost ? he has a 60M release clause, thats super cheap

Who ever runs this account, saw the sport headline and didn't bother to read the article lol.

What it actually said was his agent and deco met in a hotel, just to basically clear up that Barca aren't planning on moving for him this summer because he has other offers on the table as well as an extension from bilbao.

But he prefers to play in Spain if he leaves.

So much for he doesn't think he's good enough for Spanish defending 😂 😂.

Kid would start for Almost every team on planet Earth.

I get the diaz profile but this signing is aoch a slam junk, they should do it, but I'm losing hope.

Raphinha leave in year or two for big money in Saudi.

Williams is 24/25, perfect transition.

For all the talents coming through masia, I don't see many who are left wingers, there is that to think about as well.

Maybe this varela kid is special and is ready to be a sub in two years.

Deco W that would be if he pulled off both, the flips raph for 60-80m in two years.

According to Gerard Romero the meeting with his agent today came as request of Nico himself. After what happened last summer apparently Barca wanted Nico to take the first step this summer.

Seems like you missed a couple of vital points as well. The article clearly states that Deco told him, that we wouldn't have any trouble registering him this summer and that we - based on this meeting - could reignite our interest in him.

If you're talking about this article:

It says, that they've met according to Nico's wishes to see where Barca's interest is, as Nico has attractive offers from Arsenal and Bayern, but he would prefer to stay in Spain. Deco told him he could be registered if they agree on a transfer.
Pretty sure Laporta demanded a first step from Nico after last summer and he's done so now. Could get hot again.
