This guy is going to be available for 40-50m.
Left-footed CB who is a very good distributor. Tall and physical. Reasonably quick too. Experienced.
Literally everything Barca are looking for and desperately need.

Let's see if we make a move for him.

You think he'll be available for that price?
His contract is running down?

According to German media yes.

His contract runs out in 2027, but Dortmund are already resigned to losing him. They would probably prefer to sell him abroad.
He also seemingly has a terrible relationship with their SD due to broken promises about them actually investing to try to compete.

It seems like a good option but I have no faith we'll be able to register a 40-50 million signing next summer transfer window. Best option is someone on free but guys like that will want a big salary and a bonus so that also becomes questionable. I think we'll suffer even more in the next few years before CN really starts to bring in money.

Not even a big fan of Mingueza but if punt Kounde to sign Mingueza and funds for Schlotterbaxk it improves the defence a lot.

These transfers are not impossible the club just rate certain players too highly or too resistant to sell them due to some fan popularity.

That's a 80-100m signing.

This Nico kid seems we can get him for around 50m
With Liverpool a suitor as well, not sure the fee is going to ultimately differ in absence of club preference by player

Also, the difference between the two longterm sporting wise will trump the 30M in fees - Bastoni is a lock to do…everything, and more

Since we didn’t lock down a prolific attacking partner to Lamine yet, this is an area of the pitch that is critical in Flick’s tactics and Bastoni is superlative in a way we’ve never truly seen at Barça yet, IMHO

This is the guy you go all in for, a difference maker with elite mentality

There is going to be a domino effect on the market starting with free agents.

Liverpool won't be in for Nico if Konate renews and/or Guehi signs for them. Unlikely for Bayern or RM if Upamecano is there, etc. Once dust settles for those many of the potential competitions won't be there.

If we are all in, he could tell BVB to only negotiate with us. They will still demand big money, but unlikely tgey get anything over 50M

All true and even the Hail Mary for a Bastoni pursuit is predicated on 1:1 via the pending VIP validation by Liga

Just that in the middle of the pitch and goal, we are set for the foreseeable future leaving the back line and attacking line

Lamine needs a foil to partner with whether its a LW or 9 and defense will never see us go big for a defender but it is the one area (central defense) where both experience & class is critical. It’s why I see this with the loss of Iñigo and now potentially Araujo we lose considerable leadership and experience

Gerard & Pau or even Eric is still leaving it pretty green. It’s the one area I think if a WC talent is available and the FFP isn’t a factor, he’s the guy
