Marc-Andre ter Stegen (loaned to Girona)

Maybe there is an agreement he moves in summer thanks to being let go now. We will see.
We all know that it has to be a signed agreement and i don’t think that something exists like:
„you can go to girona now if you reduce your wage by 10 million so someone will give you a contract“

Ah ok guys, thought his contract goes until 2027 and not 2028 lol. He wont say no to the money but he wont stay at Barca when he doesnt play. He could still play EURO in 2028 and this will be probably his final goal before he says goodbye to the football world!

The best case scenario is that this stint ignites his desire to play first team football.

We pay 90% loan now and in return City Group sign him in the Summer. They can sign him for City, and loan him straight to Girona forgoing LaLiga FFPs.

That will be the hope for us.

Who knows, having a name like Stegen there may even encourage them to invest a bit and get Girona back to CL qualifiers level.

Why would they do that if they can get him for 10% of his salary?

I'm just repeating myself, you people want to live in a delusional land. Good for you, I'm out.

You can't call folks delusional when your solution is just permanently put him in the stands, which will never happens and no club at this level do it. That is equally delusional to say at least

I don't expect that will happen (but it is my wish), I'm 100% MATS stays on our payroll until the end of the contract. If he wants to play they'll extend the loan to Girona, if he doesn't want to play they'll just pay him and he'll sit on the bench/stands, whatever our great Captian wants, he decides and Deco makes it happen. That's not delusional, that's almost a fact.

My whole point is that the club had leverage with the WC, they should at least try to get him out of the club with it. Maybe it would work, probably wouldn't but at least try to do what is best for the club, not for a traitor that publically went against the club a couple months ago. They could still loan him after the WC to get rid of these 10% of his salary after the WC leverage is gone and we really wouldn't have any other option.

We now also have no other option. It doesnt change something except 750k (for half season) less in our bank account.
I mean, yes, you could put him on the bench for six months and make sure he doesn't play in the World Cup. But that wouldn't achieve anything except additional costs.

You don't know how he would react if his choice was leaving and playing WC or staying and not playing WC.

Maybe he'd cave, maybe not but we didn't even try. The positive for the club if he decided to leave would be much greater than those 500k or whatever we save with this loan. Deco made sure he got his cake and eat it too.

No way he stays at Barca until end of contract.

This move is to try and gather more interest to move him in summer if does well.

Would have been moronic to refuse moves for him and make it a battle of wills and then no move materialises and everyone worse off.

People really think that not playing a World Cup in which, even if he plays at his club, is not sure of (between shite performances, injuries, other keepers being considered etc.), is gonna make him ditch such a fat contract?

He will be on our payroll much like Umtiti was for the remainder on his contract, in one form or another. He can be loaned to some C clubs and save maybe 10-20% of his wages.

We have no choice here. We can only pick between mega-shite, shite, and mostly shite options.

Not as moronic as thinking somebody will match his salary or that he'll accept a smaller salary at another club.

Who thinks that is going to happen?

Most likely the club makes a deal and pays him a bit to go if has offers eleswhere.

Would absolutely have been moronic for club to try and teach him a lesson and be left with him in squad and not playing.

He wont be on payroll until end of contract.

Will have far more offers than likes of Umtiti or Fati got/get to leave... assuming doesnt get injured again.

We'll see. So far, the best we could come up with is to pay him almost his entire contract to play against us. Would be just like us if he were to fluke a top game and do another Coutinho.

It's the same shit for us if the club pays his future wages and release him or if we keep him and pay his salary. The cost is the same, we'd just doing him a favor, club doesn't profit with it in any way.

The idiots even included a clause that he can't play against us. At least let our attackers improve their stats against the statue.
