But yeah, why would they pay more if they know idiots like Deco will give him for free and accept paying his salary? If he's still good enough for them and they'll want him to stay they'll just extend the loan and we'll pay him until 2028. The main thing is that he isn't playing for us, everything else would just be a bonus.

Well only thing left is for us to hope he'll play well in Girona, has a decent WC and we can get rid of his salary in the summer, otherwise the club has to pay him 40m until 2028. That's most likely also the last hope of Barca and why they accepted this deal. But I also wouldn't be surprised if he says in the summer, thank you for the WC, now I'll sit out my contract.

He wanted to stay close to his kids which is why he chose Girona ahead of other offers.

No matter how it goes on the pitch, that factor will still be there after this season. Will he want to leave then? Unless they move too of course, but then I doubt he will choose Saudi.

They probably wouldn't move anywhere if he divorced his wife, fans are usually underestimating the importance of things like that. I respect that, kids come first. The WC was the only thing that could maybe change his mind but it looks like Deco didn't even try and now it's 100% that he'll be on our payroll until 2028. The only question is if he'll play at Girona all these years or warm our bench. If we're paying him then he should be at our disposal, he can wait if both our first choice keepers get injured at the same time.
