No way any top club ever hires Ham again.

Mid table Liga team won't even go for him, doubt even fodder team would. Needs to go back to Portugal but retirement's probably his best bet.

Just 14 months? He finished 15th in the league last season, 11 wins, 9 draws, and 18 losses. Any respectable top club would have canned him after that. Man U gave him WAY too much time to prove his incompetence
That's the minimum, mate. Ole was given what? Years? They waited for the guy to produce like Sir Alex and ran out of patience.

Yeah but Ole started strong. Amorim has been shit all along.

2018-2019: finished 6th
2019-2020: finished 3rd
2020-2021: finished 2nd, narrowly behind Man City.
2021-2022: sacked after poor start.

Another bullet we dodged.

Matthijs, you were by the side of Peter Bosz when he lost the Europa League final to Manchester United.

When Marcel Keizer was manager for just six months, you were there.

When Erik Ten Hag dramatically lost to Tottenham in the Champions League semi finals, you were there.

When Maurizzo Sarri managed his last game for Juventus in the Champions League round of 16, you were there.

When the great Andrea Pirlo took charge of Juventus, and their long streak of winning Serie A was ended, you were there.

When Max Allegri led Juventus to their first trophyless season in a decade, you were there.

When Julian Nagelsmann was sacked mid-season, you were there.

When Thomas Tuchel led Bayern to third spot, their lowest finish since 2010, you were there.

When you reunited with Erik Ten Hag, and he was fired after 11 points from nine games, you were there.

When Ruben Amorim finished 15th, and won 15 out of 47 league matches, you were there...

Matthijs... you are a fecking jinx.
- Anything to declare?
- Yeah. Don't hire De Ligt.

True, but as I said Amorim finally took United back into top 6 of EPL. They were 14-15th when ETH got sacked.

United were on an upward chart and it all got cancelled all of sudden.

I compare Arsenal and Man Utd as the giants of English football in decline the last 15 years. Arsenal counted on Arsene Wenger for a long time, longer than they should, but they started the rebuild after Man Utd and are at the final step of achieving it with Arteta before United, because they were building it block by block. Meanwhile United are just stuck at ground zero, new year - new manager, new ideas.

As I said before, the first step for United rebuild is to sell Bruno to Saudi for good money and get a world class CDM. Casemiro could be a backup, but he is currently far from starter material. That's where it all starts.

Then, they should change to 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1.

Arteta was on the verge of getting sacked too. People have short memories. How many trophies has Arteta won? Not enough to remain manager of a big club. However Arsenal backed him both time and money wise. That is EXTREMELY RARE nowadays. They basically believed they had the right manager and gave him the money and more importantly the time to build something. Another factor is all the top teams in EPL this season have been inconsistent which has enabled Arsenal to be genuine champions elect. The title is theirs to lose.
We are a club without time and money. Despite that Flick has done a pretty amazing job. All those who hate on him should look at Liverpool, Chelsea, Utd and even City.

Fair enough, mate. If we look at his stats this season (so far), Amorim has accumulated 8 wins, 7 draws, and 5 losses. Terrible inconsistency! Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde! Factor in the major investments that most other clubs could only dream of, and he’s been really really shite.

So while it’s true that United currently sits at 6th place, that’s not indicative of any meaningful improvement when CP sits at 14th place but just 4 points behind United. It is just one of those strange EPL seasons.

The worst happened earlier on in the season and I'm repeating myself - Amorim deserved the sack before December. But not now, it was an upward trajectory.
