The best Sporting Department in the World, led by Michael Edwards, at it YET AGAIN?
They had scouted Diaz for years, selected him as Mane long-term replacement, had his transfer planned for the upcoming summer.
But, when they saw Spurs and Utd ready to strike a deal with Porto this winter, they swiftly moved their plans forward and cashed out to get him now.
Diaz a hell of a player, he will dominate the EPL in the years to come.
You have to stand in awe at how exceptionally Liverpool are working...

This is the price range and type of player you want to get. This is why good planning is so crucial for a big club.liverpool knew their front three are going to age soon so they first bought in Jota for 40 million and now Diaz for 60 million. That's a 100 million on Twi quality players who should serve them well for the next four to five years. Meanwhile at Barca we continued to pay big bucks to washed up 30+ year olds

LTP - long-term planning. Although, perhaps, the contract with Mane will not be renewed at all. Their three are under 30 years old, and they are already completely updating the attack.
Jota (25) is already a starter, Firmino (30) is now on the bench.
As a result, the trio Diaz (24), Jota (25), Salah (29).
Easy.
But Barcelona is sleeping.

Mane is going to be sold this summer at 30, he's no longer the explosive player he was a few years back - Diaz is virtually a like for like replacement. Great move from Liverpool
Clearly some of you have not been paying attention, Barca are quite active in the winter market. They are not sleeping, simply handcuffed by the ruinous financial policies of Bartomeu et al. Moreover, Diaz is a left sided winger and when healthy Ansu is going to be occupying that space - if anything, they require a right sided winger like Antony which makes the Adama move a shrewd move. Come summer, spending & wage cap will be different and moves will be made to shore up the squad in all the areas they need to
