Awful game to watch yet again..our defense sucked yet again..Seems to be a recurring pattern with Sergi Roberto who doesn't combine well with Pique....

Watched Alba closely there , guy is a nightmare at cross balls and losing his man.

Only caught the second half and we looked bad. All Messi and most counters.

Granted, Getafe are a tough nut so I'll give Valverde some slack.

There is no point in denying Semedo's attacking output has been non-existent. With Roberto struggling badly, can only hope a new RB pops out of somewhere.

If stats were all that mattered Cesc wud still be at Barca.

Yes, but Semedo is a zero in attack. You can't defend that. Not without stats or with them. Look, I'm all for finding a better RB than Roberto (let's hope Wague impresses), but Semedo is not the one, though he should play in tough away games for sure.

Sry, but imo Roberto doesn't produce enough in attack to get past the problems he constantly causes in defense.

Getafe were really tough. We might not have played our best but the players really worked hard. Considering the other results, the win was all that mattered today.

Well..during Pep's time, Abidal was a zero in attack but he was quite good defensively..its not like we have had all attack minded full backs with us!! What we need more than attacking output is to bring defensive discipline.. which is much better with Semedo back..

Unfortunately, no. He's not.

Valverde is treating Roberto and Semedo unevenly. If both show problems just play the one who's in better form. But Roberto is always playing even when Semedo is in better form. It has happened for Roberto to be out for some reason and Semedo to have some good games, only to be benched right away by Roberto as soon as he's available again. Now, I understand benching Semedo right away if you have Dani fucking Alves coming back from injury because, well, it's Dani fucking Alves. But treating someone like Roberto as if he's some sort of world class RB that is just expected to slide right in the back 11 considering his performances is some pretty bad management.

Semedo has been punished with the bench right away at the first bad games. Roberto's bad games don't bring any sanction whatsoever. Same with Rakitic. Valverde is just a manager with some preconceived ideas and favorite players that have little to do with what's happening on the field on a week by week basis.

Good point. Yet the system (or the lack of it) we have now requres that a RB is creating something in attack, otherwise our right side is just dead. Dembele and Semedo together looked promising (albeit without Semedo having any end product).

Somewhat. But with Messi (not) playing on the right, he'd like to have an option in attack. Sadly, it doesn't work. If Roberto doesn't regain form, there'll be no point in starting him in big, important matches.

It can't work to have a RB doing all the flank. Nobody does that in world football. Would be a tall order even for prime Alves. Messi should just stay more on the right.
