Best midfielder around
With a tiny little player like Oliver in their midfield Atletico look less defensive and more open than before. Hopefully something that will help us.

Arda is small too but he had a lot of fight in him. I think Atletico are better ddfensivley this year with luis at the back and the Uruguayan cb pairing. The problem is that gabi and Tiago are getting older. Good thing they have Saul.

Atletico will have Matias Kranevitter after CWC. Gabi and Tiago won't be staring every match when he arrives.

Jackson's movement looks really really tame. Hasn't been dangerous or on his toes at all so far, even when Atleti are driving forward.

It's probably a good thing they sold Mario Suarez. I always felt like he was a Ticking time bomb ready to go off when things do not go right.

It's been a lackluster half so far.

There is always a chance for Las Palmas if it stays 1-0.

Expected Atletico to push on and seal the game after the goal.

Costa is better, he was quick and could run in behind, aswell as mix it with the centre backs for a header. He had a suarez like attitude too.

Oliver will turn into a some player if he stays injury free and keep getting regular chances.

Flurry of chances just now, Oliver creating most of them. He and Griezmann look the sharpest today, Koke fairing well too. Hopefully Vietto gets a solid run out next half.

Jackson seems like a composed finisher and good in the penalty box but not the type to stretch the defence.

If we buy Pogba there will be no need for him.

If we'd gotten an early option on him, he might've cost literally 10x less than Pogba would (not including wages mind you). That being said, Atleti would be stupid to let him go so easily. At the time (1 or 2 seasons ago) they didn't seem to value him as much as they do now or in the future though so he definitely would've been a bargain.
