Best XI according to LFP, no Barcelona players

Lost the title on the last day = 0 players. 3rd 4th and 5th place all represented. Seems as fair and objective as the random MVP award they made up just for Cristiano with no other candidates..

Meanwhile 3 FCB players in a league of 100 points. Only in Spain.

This is an unpopular opinion but the choices were not really illogical overall. Yes Barcelona were title contenders up until the last day but who would you put up there?

-None of our defenders deserve it over who was picked, that should be obvious.

-Valdes could've been a contender but in reality, he's rightfully behind Courtois and Navas (who probably deserved it) and he missed a good chunk of the season with his injury

-Our midfielders.....eh. Xavi didn't shine, Iniesta had a less than desirable 1st half of the season, Cesc did a Cesc. Busquets is a maybe but even then he underperformed for his usual standards whereas Iturraspe was unbelievable for Athletic, being a key player in our climb from 12th to 4th. There's a reason that he went from being completely unknown to the general public to being in VDB's provisional squad for the WC.

-For attackers, Messi should've been on there. Alexis had a case but he's not been better than Messi, Costa, or Ronaldo so I understand why not.

Overall I think the actual omissions are Navas, Messi, and maybe one of Di Maria/Modric to be objective. This 11 is meant for individuals who truly shined (which is relative to a lot of factors) which is why it's fair game for a player from both a 1st place team and one from a 10th place team possibly. I think the players listed there deserve special recognition while ours didn't.

Congrats to Eibar! They'll have a hard task next season, trying to stay in primera.

It's very unbelievable considering their finances and how small of a club they are (Liga Adelante's Atletico? :p). This presents a good chance for teams like Athletic and Real Sociedad to loan a few youth players out as Eibar desperately need squad depth to compete and stay up.

Their entire budget is on 4m euros. There has been rumours about them possibly not getting promoted due to their finances, but I hope they do and that Sociedad and Athletic loan out some youth players as DonAndres said so that they get some squad depth and stay up.

Las Palmas and Cordoba will play the final of the play-offs in 2nd division. Winner promotes to the Liga, with Eibar and Deportivo.

Cordoba now in Liga 1 due to a goal in the 99th Minute! ( The game was paused in extra time cause Las Palmas fans invaded the pitch). Heartbreaking
