the only guy who looks often lost is Joselu, he scores sometimes but overall he isnt Real madrid level so Haaland would make more sense than Mbappe but Perez is obsessed with that french turtle

Common sense more like. How can you not be excited about mbappe as a madridista? There is no reason.
Oh he's super excited lol!

It's just that the fanbase and his ego is bruised because Mbappe has publicly toyed with Madrid for years and embarrassed them.

Real Madrid fans aren't really used to much disappointment but Mbappe humbled them big time and they just can't take it.

Performing all sorts of mental gymnastics to frame their construals in a way that seems unbothered about Mbappe. Nothing but a puerile last-ditch attempt to conciliate themselves.

You are right its about ego, but it is more about the ego of Perez than anything else, who wants to relive the galacticos era.

That era is dead, and better off leaving it that way, the club, the fans, were all ready to move on from Mbappe after 2022, but Perez don't want to, he can't.

He has done a great job as president financally, and mostly made good signings, young players that are up and coming, the way forward, Mbappe would represent a reversal of that.

Yes, Mbappe would score goals and all that, but he would be signed for commercial reasons first, footballing reasons second.

In addition, positionally, it doesn't even make sense trying to shoehorn Vinicius and Mbappe into the same team, yes, Mbappe can technically start at CF, but he will drift left, Vinicius will be on the left, Bellingham also likes to drift left(though i'm sure he can stay more central), just how many LFs does a team need?

In conclusion, while it made sense some years ago, Mbappe no longer fills a gap in the team, resources should be saved for an actual CF instead.
