Junior Firpo

Doesn't seem Laporta has much better plan so far.

At least Messi would be gone and we wouldn't sign Kun if he'd still be here. And he'd find 150m somewhere to buy Haaland, I'm sure about that.

Should sell Alba to Inter, buy Gaya and keep Firpo as a backup for another season but yeah, this would never happen.

It's not as simple as it sounds. Just receiving the money won't be enough as La Liga doesn't allow us to reinvest in the same manner:

But around 40% over the league?s wage cap, it?s sales that Barcelona need, especially if Messi?s big contract remains on the books for another two years.

Big-earners like Ousmane Demb?l?, Philippe Coutinho and even Antoine Griezmann could find themselves sacrificed for the sake of Barca?s efforts to climb back into the black, and La Liga boss Tebas has now warned fans expecting the club to reinvest any transfer fees receives that it simply will not be possible.

Explaining La Liga?s financial rules and the tricky scenario Barca find themselves in, Tebas told El Transistor, via Mundo Deportivo: ?We have a special procedure for when a club goes over its salary established by La Liga, where clubs can only include players who represent 25% of the savings.

?If Barca sell a player for ?100million, they can only spend ?25million.

?If Barca receives ?10million on a sale, they can only spend ?2.5million on a new signing.

?If Barcelona want to bring in a player who costs them ?25million per season in salary, they must earn, either by transfer or by a salary reduction, ?100 million.?

Speaking about how the rules impact Barca? bloated squad, Tebas added: ?They have to reduce salaries in the squad considerably or produce fees from sold players.

Laporta's hands are tied.

You should watch Gaya in an hour. I don't think he's an obvious solution at the moment. Alba looks superior.

On a normal day Alba is pretty good , that's not the issue. Problem is when he suddenly turns into a Segunda level LB in those high pressure games (especially in the CL) , same goes for Mats.

At his best there's maybe only one or two better LBs than Alba in the World.

The problem with Alba is that his best never shows up vs. good teams or when teams cut out his outlet to Messi which is 90% of his attacking contribution. Speaks volumes that Alba is benched today in a KO game. He's been decent this tourney, but maybe Lucho doesn't trust him in a game like this.

Very close to Leeds...

All three parties would agree. Junior Firpo has opted for the English club that would guarantee him four seasons of contract. Bar?a would ensure income between 15 and 18 million euros, although not all would go to the coffers of the Bar?a club. Betis will take 20% of a transfer.

The azulgrana club paid for his purchase a fixed of 18 "kilos" and another 12 in variables, which were divided into two groups, one of seven and another of five. The first seven will be paid according to the games played. But since Junior has barely made a career to make them effective, 20% of a possible transfer would be for the Betic club. The remaining five would have been paid in equal parts of 2.5 million if he had made his debut as an absolute international and based on Bar?a's collective achievements.

So if we sell for a min. 15m we won't have any loss on him even after paying Betis their part. None other variables will be paid as he didn't play enough games, made a NT debut for Spain nor did we win anything in his two years here except CDR (which I don't think it's enough as those collective achievements were probably tied to La Liga and CL).

Transfer official for 15m and 20% of future sale. Solid deal.

Sadly he never really got enough consistent playing time to prove his worth here but I believe he's a very good player who will do well for Bielsa.

Good luck.
