Julian Nagelsmann

It's probably time to start a thread since there will be increased speculation surrounding him as a future coach at Barca

DOB: 23/07/1978

Bavarian born, former central defender

Trained by Tuchel at Augsborg, once described as a mini-Mourinho by a former player owing to his meticulousness rather than defensive first approach or general douchery the Portuguese is known for. Otherwise described as astute, passionate, driven and innovative

At 20 years of age and contemplating what to do with his career due to a chronic knee problem, Tuchel offered him a scouting position within the team that would eventually shape his desires to become a coach

Klopp on Nagelsmann
:
Julian Nagelsmann ? is one of the most exciting, innovative and adventurous coaches in world football, He rightly has many admirers. I am absolutely towards the top of that list.

Who says he would adapt here? Or that he would command respect to Barca players same as he does to Leipzig kids. Or handle the pressure of winning every season versus being an upstart.

Big gamble imo.

Think the thread should be in "Club football" section.
If we want him, it should be in 2022 and not 2021 IMO. He will be 35 and experienced enough by then.
Busquets and Pique should never be here in 2022/2023 and Alba should most likely be moved to the bench, so no player will be older/same age as him.

He used to be a CB. We we can use him these 2 years as a CB then a manager :coffee:

He's younger than Messi ffs.

There's no way a 33 year old German manager is gonna survive while our seniors are still here. He might be an option in 2-3 years time, but I would bet this ends up just like AVB at Chelsea if he were to come next year.

As Nostradamus stated in the Laporta thread, he is not going to leave Leipzig this summer and will likely to go to Bayern in the future if they have an opening. Timing is an important factor I think, if Flick stays with Bayern for two more seasons and if somehow Nagelsmann becomes available in 2022, we might have a chance.

Koeman is doing a great job with our youngsters, and building our new spine for the future. Why change that and gamble.

He's a great prospect but like Devils said, he's the same age as Messi,Busquets,Pique etc and doesn't speak a word of Spanish right now.

All those variables make it extremely unlikely to happen or work as it should.

We defo don't need this guy. Stick with Koeman. He'll bring us glory again (not sure if in the Champions League but at least we'll be playing like Barcelona again/play the Barcelona way again.)
