Everything starts with the board. Bartomeu is a clueless, spineless and weak President. When we could renew the team by moving on from some excellent players for the club in Ronaldinho and Deco they definitely could move on from some of the current players.

There is no leadership in the club whatsoever. The only reason the players are deemed to have so much power is because the President and his board have no clue how to run the club and football team.

If the players have that much power then all the blame lies on Bartomeu. Everything starts and ends with him.

It's a power struggle between 3 parties. Coach, board and amigos.

But I think the only way to break this is a strong minded coach. Setien and Valverde were both subtracted to other 2 parties.

It needs to start with board getting rid of amigos and moving on.

Unfair to expect a coach to come into the club and have to deal with them but not playing them.

Would be non stop distractions and politics.

Agree need a brave coach as may be decisions still to be made but this is on board to rectify before any coach should have to deal with it.

I agree with this. It would end up just like it ended with Setien. Players has too much power. We need to throw them out first. Don't put the pressure on the next coach.

Have you seen their contracts? It's very likely we'll have ourselves 2-3 Bales next season. Let's not fool ourselves that these guys have the good of the club at their heart. Puyol, Xavi, Iniesta yes. These clowns, no.

They will not get very good offers from other clubs because everybody sees they are past it. The teams that would want them can't pay them even half of what they get here. So they will probably stay like Bale is staying for Madrid.

Xavi and Iniesta left under Bartomeu and were on big contracts. Can remember it being discussed at time.
