Jordi Mestre resigns.

Hmmm.

It says that the official version of him resigning has nothing to do with the possible Neymar transfer but that is most likely the very case and the fact that this useless board has no sporting plan or direction. In particular as the much "heralded" Coutinho and Dembélé transfers did not work out as planned, were very expensive and the club will likely not get what was initially paid in case of selling them both.

On the other hand a 2 year older Neymar, suffering from numerous serious injuries and chaotic off-field incidents (to put it mildly, he is currently accused of **** in Brazil), will likely cost more or less what we sold him for 2 years ago.

A total mess.

I am actually enjoying this greatly as Mestre was one of the main figures of the board and thus played a key role in the continuous dismiss of the club and the disappearance of the Cruyff model. Sadly the main rotten lot remain for now but Mestre leaving is great news overall. Never saw any sporting qualities in him and his press conferences were always laughably dull.

Interestingly Mestre was Segura's main supporter on the board.

Could very well be the end up him as well.

Yes, RAC1 just reported that Segura's position is in danger as he doesnt have a lot of supporters within the club especially now after Mestre resigned. Lets hope this is the start of the end of this board.

It says everything about the sorry state of the club, due to the actions of the current board, that a primitive dinosaur and nobody like Segura even got the job in the first place and survived this long. Him leaving Liverpool was the start of their return to relevancy. Not a coincidence.
I hope that we will follow in their footsteps although we never had it as bad as Liverpool but that has more to do with our spine of the team which the current board had nothing to do with constructing and Laportas and Peps work and legacy.

We won't see the desired change, unless a new board replaces this current useless board, before 2021 or 2020 (vote of no confidence) depending on how our next season will unfold - I predict zero titles if what I think will happen but I will wait for September to give my final verdict.

To put the mess into further perspective.

Actually make that 4 vice presidents having resigned since the clueless board was reelected in 2015 as Susana Monje was a vice president at one point too.

Funny to notice the equally harsh criticism (like my age long crusade) against the current board from a past member such as Freixa who himself was no saint either for that matter.

No board is perfect but Laporta's board makes the current and past lot (members) look like amateurs to put it mildly.

Laporta lost half of his board too so that means little. Club was heading in bad direction for few years now and Mestre and co should have seen it much earlier.

Suppose I'll take it as good news as well though.

I don't think so. The club has very strict rules on how much money they can spend (on transfers and wages) relative to turnover. If you look at our balance sheets for the last 5 years, they make pretty good reading. Trying to blame Josep for being reckless with the club finances doesn't carry any weight.
