Camp Nou should have really been renovated while the club still owned Mini Estadi. It just made sense.
And if Laporta had stayed rather than Rosell coming in, it probably would have.
It's a shame also, nobody foresaw the immense growth of women's football in Europe. Hell, I was in the Euro scene 2015 and didn't get it. I only got it at the 2016 World Cup.
If we had caught win of it, the Johan Cruyff capacity could have and should have been bigger.
The idea of selling Mini Estadi was because it was a waste to have that land value and an almost 15k empty stadium for the attendances of Barca B games received.
But with the growth of the game that wouldnt be an issue now as the could tailor the stadium for the women's side. The current Johan Cruyff at 15-20k would have been immense.
And as a by product, would make the rebuild of the Camp Nou way less strenuous. I put this as another fail of the Barto/Rosell era.
Btw last point and tangent. Miss the days of driving into Barca and telling friends and partner, that's the Barcelona stadium pointing to MiniEstadi. Then the reaction when they say that's nice, but smaller than expected. Then saying "ok let's go to the club shop" and BAM, seeing the Camp Nou.
There was no bigger flex in those days.
