One can also argue Pep did well in Europe, against top teams, which Hansi has not yet done, and Pep did well in La Liga, at a time when it was a much stronger league than it is now.

Different times.

Noone argued Flick did more in Europe. Barca dominating everyone in that 4 seasons was maybe best football ever seen.
Has to be said, European football has more strong teams now than 15 years ago.

True, difficult comparisons, as Barca was the only team playing this insane pressing back in the days and today's coaches teaching pressing, got all their inspiration from that team. Pep had also the far more complete team, aside from the Messi cheat. Just switch Kounde with Alves in his prime and see how our right side starts to dominate everyone.

Flick has a team that is 31st in terms of spending in the last 5 years, ie Covid era:

And 45th in the last 3 years :

And 70th in the last 2 years:

And he still bought us success.
Xavi was crying, and understandably so.
And my MAN, keeps his head high, and delivers us the best season in the last 5 years. And we are doing pretty well this season too.

“Currently, Mbappé is the best striker,” Flick acknowledged. “He has scored a lot of goals and has world-class talent. We watched the semifinals together, the whole team.

“How many Clásicos have we played in the last year and a half? And how many have we lost? We’ve lost one. That’s what it’s about.

“I know Mbappé is a fantastic player and that he’s phenomenal when he has space behind the defense. We’ll adapt some things, as we always do. But not specifically because of Mbappé. We’re focused on our philosophy, on our ideas.”

So Mbappe is playing?

You’re a good poster but I think you’re confused,
I will let Gullit explain as he explains it better than I can

RUUD GULLIT: “If winning the Champions League feels tough today, imagine how it was in my era. Only the actual national champions could enter, it wasn’t even a yearly tournament for most teams.

The title ‘Champions League’ has lost its true meaning: now even the fourth-place team qualifies.

Back then, lifting the trophy was a mission that took two seasons: first win your league, then face Europe’s finest straight away.

No group stages. No safety net. One mistake and you were out.

You could meet a giant in the very first round… and a single loss ended everything.”
