I think we are objectively better this season than last

It's just that we faced greater challenges. Last season in CL league phase only top team we had to play was Bayern, who was also in shit form. This season it's PSG and Chelsea. Not to mention the huge injury crisis

Are you saying PSG and chelsea would have Spanked us even worse if we played last season?

Mundo Deportivo have a new report on the situation and say that Flick met with Joan Laporta and Deco recently to talk about a possible extension to his current deal that runs until 2027.
Flick is completely happy at Barcelona but the report says he wants to delay any more talks on his future until the end of the season.
The German coach does not want to commit to a long-term contract and wants to focus on the current campaign instead. He’s also aware that presidential elections will take place next year which may cause changes at the club.

First smart thing he did in last 18 months.

Why would we renew him? It's not like any serious club would want him, lol. He can go back to Bayern when Kompany will replace Pep though.

He won’t be there. I’m not happy about this. He is injured. I expect him to come back against Espanyol. He has problems with the hamstrings. He can also play, but the risk is too high, if something happens, then he is out for two months.”

We have to take care of him and make sure he gets treatment, cant train. But it’s impossible to play. We decided we can’t take any risks. It’s the best thing to do right now. We need him for the upcoming matches in the new year against Espanyol and then the Super Cup. We have this match against Villarreal, and it’s important, but we have a lot of quality in the team.”

“For me, it’s good to have control and stability in the team. In the last few matches, that’s how it was, with Eric playing as a ‘6’, and he was fantastic. Frenkie understood that. Of course he wants to play, but he’s an unbelievable player, and an important player for the team.”

Two things I want to see from Flick, before the UCL knockout stage.
1- Bench Creampie and play Eric. Lets see how he fares against better teams.

2- Drop the Raphinha at 10 gimmick. He isn't a Number 10, and hinders our play there. I want to see him as a CF, with Rashy as the LW. Heck, Rashy as CF & Rapha at LW would do too. Just want to see all three of Yamal, Rapha & Rashy as forwards.

Lets see how we fare in January. If all goes well, as I think it would, we would have far lesser things to worry about next Mercato.

What are you actually criticizing? He's winning a lot of games while playing all-out attacking football with a mix of players that are:

- years away from their primes (Pedri, Yamal, Cubaris: 23, 18, 18 years old)
- way past their primes (Lewa)
- doubtful in general quality (Koundé, Araujo, Christensen)
- nothing more than solid with glimpses here and there but also lacking in a lot of aspects (De Jong, Ferran, Olmo).

With only one guy who is in his absolute prime and delivering high quality majority of the time (Raphinha).

Winning domestic double with entertaining football is the most one can expect, based on RM's very own struggles.

Winning CL is possible depending on form and luck but can't be expected with this squad at all.

Honestly, after Messi era and the Griezmann, Coutinho, Démbéle, Gomes disasterclasses I would have never expected that this club will compete again at the very top so soon. Playing Europa League against likes of Man United and Frankfurt with limp sideway zombie tiki-taka year after year was a real possibility.

So the critics better be trolling for entertainment purposes or explain themselves what their expecations are.

stubborness, stupid decisions, and bayernball or nothing tactics

Ok, so just trolling. WTF is Bayernball? If anything, Bayern has copied Barca after Spain's and Barca's successful 2008 - 2012 era. As did Man City and PSG.

I watched City vs. RM recently and Pep the "Barca style" man himself with endless budget didn't impress me. He was getting beaten by Alonso's slumping RM without Mbappe until Courtois fucked up followed by a penalty.
