I liked the improvement in the 2nd half in terms of control. Let's use this off period to work on things. Not a bad game overall despite those hectic 30 mins in the first half.

Second half was almost surreal to watch.

Control and composure on levels we haven’t seen since last season.

This was probably the best game of the season.

Celta in a crazy form, coming from a high of European win. Very tough game but we did extremely well. Very good sign. Very good.

2nd half we improved our pressing anticipation. And we look good.

Bring in Raphinha in the team, who is a pressing god, just not with legs but with his intelligence, and we will improve even better.

First goal is summary of all our problems. It is not a defender mistake as some would see, it is very coordinated move to create offside trap on the halfway line. Problem is - that is just stupid.

First half didn't help too, that some great offsides were made to look like impressive Celta attacks because of the way offside calls are made in VAR era.

But it's not stupid to celebrate the goals thanks to this tactic? Easy to criticize one thing and take the other for granted. Both are the result of the tactic.

If they score 2 we'll score 4. If they score 5 we'll score 7....

:flick:
Cruyff: "I rather win 5-4, than 1-0."

That's Barca's philosophy and one of the reasons, Laporta decided to bring Flick for Xavi. People criticizing it never understood what Barca's total football stands for. Heart, spirit and entertainment on the pitch. If they don't like it, they are better suited to follow other clubs with a more pragmatic system.

For sure it would be nice to win without conceding a goal now and then. Last time was 21 Sep against Getafe. Since then it's 10 games in a row without a clean sheet.

For that, the pressing needs to work perfectly, so the opponents can't play too many of the easy through passes. Raphinha will help much with that, as well as Garcia returning, a keeper capable of saving 1vs1s. The chances for clean sheets will definitely rise with these 2 back.

If this type of tactics is needed to score goals then we have big problems

Nobody talks about needed. It's our philosophy since Cruyff. You don't like it, then you have a fundamental problem with Barca's style of playing football, but then I don't understand why you follow this club. That's exactly what Cruyff brought and the absolute majority loves to see on the pitch. Successful entertainment.

Barca never wanted just to win, but to win in an entertaining way. That's why the club prefers a 5-4 over a 1-0. Exactly what Flick brought back to us. Any general criticism of the total football goes against the foundation of the club itself. You can criticize how the system is executed, that's a different story. But to call it generally stupid goes against the style of play the club identifies with.

What is so bizarre is that Valverde, Koeman and Xavi not only failed at bringing entertaining football to Barcelona but served up the most boring style of play imaginable. Bizarre for a club which prides itself on playing entertaining and attractive football.

Say what you want about Laporta, but at least he respects our brand of football as much as any fan who supports our entertaining style of play under Flick, Lucho or Guardiola.

If it hadn’t been for Messi & co, I dare not imagine what our football would have been like under Valverde.

You can win in an entertainment way without constantly being hopelessly exposed though, has multi barca Managers who won things in the modern era has shown

Our philosophy certainly isn't to disregard defense in order to score more goals, it's to not play defensive football.

Those are two completely different things, so far in flicks entire career he's never shown he's able to find that balance
