Then Christensen. Just not Cubarsi and Garcia.

Cubarsi and Garcia were not as bad as made out at weekend when watched again.

Cubarsi had some moment when head went a bit after goal but I think it is overplayed.

Anyone who is picked will have flaws is the issue.

Fucking both took long range efforts though which was a bit bizarre.. then Araujo came on and shot from near on 40 yds.

Barca badly lacked maturity and patience at weekend too many times.

Or we could change nothing, tank the league season, and put it all on a wild shot in CL trying to build the fitness of the team to have the players in the form of their life in March - May. And regroup for next season.

I believe Arsenal tried that last year when it was clear Liverpool would walk the league.

Also, if my wingers are not seeing the ball and are doing jack shit offensively, then I expect them to help out in defense far more than either of them did.

Hes got to goooo
He made a meme out of our CBs thanks to his meme tactics.
Defense was trash last season, it is garbage this season.

No CB can fix this defense. Not even if you give them a 500m budget to buy all the CBs in the world.
Casue this manager is a joke!

Our next potential manger.

LUIS ENRIQUE. Obvious choice. He is willing and ready to come back. Unifished business.
FABREGAS. Paid his dues, time to test him.
ARTETA. This one wont happen + he needs billions.
BUSQUTES. The chosen one.

Christensen can barely get minutes due to his health, and even when be played he wasn't that good tbh. He isn't reliable sadly.

I would try Araujo Eric Kounde combination with one of them as RB, but it is likely to continue having some issues.

For next match vs Elche, i hope Flick can try Yamal in #10 role, Rashford #9, Fermin and Roony on the wing (or maybe Ferran #9, Rashford and Roony on the wing).

It doesn't hurt to try something new.

Last year, between November 10th and December 21st, we had 4 defeats and 2 draws out of 7 games in the league. The possibility that flick turns it around is here. The potential is in the team

To me it looks like he is trying to settle on a defence and get some more stability.. and for now that chosen defence would be Kounde Cubarsi Eric Balde.

Kounde is the best RB Barca have. Personally never rated him anywhere close to what some have on here but he is the best RB and Flick has shown last season he tries to play starters back into form.

Cubarsi and Eric at CB - Flick knows full well that it lacks physicality but would guess he has gone down that route for a number of reasons -

Eric is probably the best brain/organiser at back.. and has been Barcas best defender this season.
It allows Cubarsi to go back to RCB where he played last season.
It allows for better passing out from the back when opponents are man marking Pedri/FDJ and setting traps for the full backs. Barca when teams do that need CBs that can hit the AM or front players early.. in theory.

The downside is it lacks physicality/pace but that is the gamble being taken.

What are the alternatives?

Christensen - I dont think anyone at club trusts physically anymore and Flick wont try to build a settled defence with him in it for that reason.

Araujo - In theory should be a good physical 1v1 defender but he in reality hasnt been. Positionally he is poor too often, makes rash decisions a lot... and he isnt an organiser. Added to that he makes the way teams are pressuring Barca worse by how poor he is on ball and forces Cubarsi to LCB where he is not open on the ball either.

Will it work? Maybe... maybe not but Flick is not blind and just picking CBs who lack physicality as a pair for no reason. The alternatives are seen as worse at moment.

Likes of Araujo will get chances to show he can be so much better defensively that his lack of passing/organisation is worth it but he hasnt so far.

Hopefully Garcia when back brings a bit of calm and also better on ball as outlet.

Busi should be a cracking manager. Biggest football brain bar Messi.

Truth be told there is a great pool of managers that have a connection with the club.

Busquets doesn't have the personality or charisma to be a top manager.

Xavi had the right personality but not the tactical acumen or self awareness (should have hired a master tactician as his assistant instead of Oscar).

Muller and Xavi had a higher Football IQ than Messi and Busquets.

Xavi should be an even better manager than Busi on paper, but we know it doesn't work like that.
Nope. Busi clears Xavi for me on the football brain part.

Muller?

Did Fabregas or Arteta have the personality or charisma?
