Shade of 2023/24 season. Next Clasico might be the turning point whether or not this season will be another 23/24.

Agreed. A decline in focus and intensity, due mostly to a tired squad both mentally and physically after a long and tough previous season, with not enough solid options on the bench and nagging injuries to key players. And a more solid Madrid to cap it up. They ended up with well over 90 points in 2023-24 IIRC. Could be the same this season unfortunately. All the signs are there.

It's a massive challenge for Flick. And also a warning for us as fans to not see these players are ready made stars already.

ffs why won’t no one listen. Raphinha’s km’s covered is what is hugely missed.

Even if we had lost form, we would substantially be better with his workrate.

It is not enough to cover kms. Raphinha has to get back to his high end product numbers also. We badly lack a leader in this team to get us back, and Raphinha is the one that is most fit to do it. Not Pedri, not Yamal, not De Jong, not anyone else. He is the actual captain on this team.

We need the Raph from last season to bang them in, and a talk with Yamal to go back to his main creator role is needed. Take fewer shots, you are not good enough in the finishing department to be main scorer and main creator of the team.

Defence has been a joke all season. Just that Joan saved a few of the goals that Woj let in.

Can't have an offside line without anyone leading the line.

I think this is a trademark of Flick ball. Abysmal defending is his calling card, the flaw everyone knows. I checked out the Bayern forums. Most got used to it, they said Bayern could concede 2-3 goals to the worst sides of Bundesliga at any point. It's the same with us. Most frustrating entertaining ball possible is how Bayern fans put it, and it fits Flick to a T.

At this point, it's useless to demand Flick to change his ways. We can only hope the offense is so well drilled as to carry the defense, or call it a day and move past Flick. If we do move past Flick, one bad season is not enough to lose hope in him. We can bounce back next year even if we suck this year, provided Flick doesn't implode with all the pressure he might get.

This is what I've been saying, check is goals conceded with Bayern with a back four tailor made for his type of football, the type of defenders everyone here says we need to be better defense, it didn't help him at Bayern, it would help him now.

They key was the keeper and we have one now in Garcia, he and the club correctly identified what is the most important key in our back line, a great shot stopper.

The man will conceded goals no matter who he has in defense, a natural by product of his tactics, which is fine as long as he knows he can adapt to close out games
