I got shitted on for saying Inigo would be a huge loss coming into this season. It seemed like he kept Cubarsi in line last season much like Puyol with Pique. I never understood why we didn't get defence reinforcements (CB and backup LB).

First, I'm seeing him get completely outclassed since being our manager. He would frustrate me with his lack of situational awareness, but never outclassed.

Won't be too hard on him; good learning opportunity..

He would have folded vs PSG like he did vs Inter. Letting him go wasn't the biggest issue. It's the fact we didn't get at least a top defender was criminal.

Because we are broke

And then people at the club instead of telling the truth said they are happy with the current squad

But nobody is happy with what we have on LB and CB. Flick definitely least of all

The defence needed reinforcements WITH Inigo still here.

Instead we lost him and bought no one.

Exceptionally poor planning. I said in the first game of the season that defence will be our downfall this year,

The problem is that Barca's defensive personnel doesn't look any stronger than last season.

For this system, you need elite modern CBs which Flick doesn't have.

This high line would be even worse against PSG's rapid first choice forwards.

For now, Flick has to tweak his system in big games against teams with super fast attackers. A bit of pragmatism is needed here.

Your definition of "outclassed" ?

I think the term is outcoached. It's different

Outclassed would be if he whined and complained about what not and not recognize how good was the opponent. In post match interview we can see huge respect for what PSG shown and pure desire to learn from this loss

Lucho 2.0 is a baller though.

Much better budget at disposal, but the all out press and positional discipline he’s instilled is top top management.

Yep this lucho is so freaking good and by extension this PSG team.

I was saying it all of last season, before anyone saw it.

I'm not trying to glaze but this lucho PSG is freaking goooood.

The positional rotations is something else as we didn't even see it today due to injuries, they will cook us full XI vs XI, 7 times out of 10.

Truth. Didn't even Martinez himself say he felt like it was good time to leave? In a sense, who knows how long he could have kept playing at high level?

We needed new players. Potential world class players. Martinez itself wouldn't fix anything.

Stop spouting utter shite.

Folk were calling them one of faves for CL long before you.

He was out coached on the bench
Outclassed on the field

That's how I see it, on the field we couldn't get near them after 25 minutes outclassed on the field, out coached on the bench.

Liverpool have the best in the business at CB and you lot also got thoroughly outplayed over 2 legs.

Lucho has created the best team in the world by a distance. Last time we had that was 16-17 RM and before that 14-15 Barca.
