Some players were overplayed because the bench last season was atrocious. We had 3 good attackers and they were our starters, everything else a huge drop in quality. Pedri had no worthy replacement. We had 2 reliable CBs. This season it should be different because squad depth has improved so I expect less fatigue in final stretch of the season.

Do have some worries about our defense. Cubarsi/Inigo pairing saved us last season, that's a big loss. Araujo continues to look sketchy. Christensen might work but will his achilles hold this time? Might have to rely on Eric/Kounde for covering the two right side spots.

Sophomore season also means that teams will be better drilled on countering this high line of ours. Lesser sides particularly will seize on the fact that all it takes is one well-timed pass. Need to keep it fucking tight boys.

La Liga teams were very well aware of this last season. Most of them simply can't endure the pressure and end up concending too many goals before they even get the chance to play with our highline. I don't think there will be something new in their approach.

Squad depth? Wtf are you smoking? Who is a solid backup to Araujo/Kristensen and Cubarsi? One of them injured and we will have matches with wild scorelines, like 7-6 or 7-8

Btw, Inigo prior to last season, since 2022-23, missed 270 days due to injury in 2 seasons, 2022-23, and 2023-24. Last season is an outlier for him in terms of being fit consistently.

Prior to last season, Christensen missed only 95 days in 2022-23, and 2023-24. Point is just because last season Christensen was injured far more doesn't mean it's the same every season.

We need to see how Christensen will be fitness wise this year. Time off last season might do him good for this campaign.

Assuming Araujo and Christensen can be counted on we have 3 good CBs. Most top clubs have that much. You dont rotate CBs all the time anyway, there is starting pair and 3rd one sometimes jumps in. On top of that Eric and Kounde who can play there and also Martin against weak opposition.

Squad depth is definitely better this season. Forwards Rashford and Roony. Midfield, we have Bernal and Casado.
The keeper Garcia is better, too.
Madrid are an unknown quantity at this point. They may just click and rack up the points.
