Dortmund is different level to Lyon imo.
Yeah man. COVID. I wouldn't count on peps CLs here because he had Messi. Or Lucho's.
But not sure how does that hinder Valverde or Tata. Hm...
Dortmund is different level to Lyon imo.
Lyon beat Man City when Lyon didn't play a league game in 5 months and Man City had been playing the rest of their league games the previous month. They probably get the title either way in 2020, but playing Lyon in the semis was insanely major luck. It happens once every 10 years or so. Don't remember Barca ever playing vs effectively an EL level team in the semifinals of the Champions League. It was always some tough opponent.
Not necessarily.
Seeing Dembele under LE, and how Raphinha has been under Flick, have to question how he would have been under Flick 22/23.
Then you have guys like Kessie and Nico that year that would have known better how to utilize.
Yeah, issue is except for some 6-7 months in 2022-23, Xavi didn't have neither Dembele, nor this Yamal. Dembele left for PSG, and Yamal exploded during the Euros.
This is a case of both things being true most likely, got a better manager to handle a better version of the squad. Hence the big upgrade in CL this season. Just one of the conditions is not enough.
The big difference is Yamal. He is no longer a rookie but most likely one of the best players in the world.
True.
Raphi not being a template 60 minute sub too.
Finding a system that makes the best out of Pedri and Frenkie, with no question of to get the best out of them in a mid 3.
Etc.
Flick is not a NT manager it's obvious, no wonder he failed with Germany. It takes a great deal of time to learn his system and get used to all its characteristics, and with national team job you really don't have that time at allNah he was considered a joke in Germany after the WC just Google it.
and unlikely to get a job there again or anywhere else actually.
After Bayern many wondered if it was all just a great one season.
No one puts his team in the same sentence as Heynckes Bayern or any other greatest team of all time conversation, that is just a straight up fabrication.
Because you know Covid, which is why lewa didn't win the Golden Ball.
Which he why he took this job on a relatively low salary to prove it wasn't all just a perfect storm of circumstances that led to that 1 good season.
Was actually a blessing there was just one leg and it didn't have to be played on Camp Nou the humiliation would no doubt be much bigger (if that is even fucking possible)Pretty sure we didnt lose to Bayern's Flick either. Because COVID.

Yes many wondered if it was one great season but nobody does anymore because he has managed to have another sensational season in a different club and different environment with completely normal circumstances
I don't agree with you that covid should completely discret his sextuple season because that season was going normal up until March/April. He managed to completely transform a team that looked clueless under Kovac and the season has been going very well with them as one of top favourites to win it when covid struck
But even if you do discredit his entire Bayern stint what he has managed to do at Barca after that (transform a trophyless bunch into prob the most feared side of Europe) very much proves he's a top manager
Where did I exaggerate? I don't remember us winning any trophies last season, which means the team was trophyless. And now it's the best in Europe, huge difference.Trophy less? Why you gotta always exaggerate to make a point.
this team won a title 1 season ago.
if we win this season, it will be this TEAM 2nd title in 3 years, not it's first because this is now magically year one.
The point about flick is never that he can't play attacking football, the question is if that attacking football can actually lead to winning, when all things are equal.

I don't think it's reasonable to question whether we can win things with this system when 2 minutes seperated team from the final and that with 3 starters being out. Balde in place of Martin and we easily win the tie against Inter.
