Barca's system is all about outscoring the opponents right now.

As long as the offense delivers, you'll be fine.

The defense is very mid overall.

We are not that fine. Said before the match we will dominate Inter and score goals, but should avoid cheap gifts. Did only 2 out of 3 sadly.

Kind of a failed chance last night.

I feel like a few guys here just base their opinion on whatever they think makes Xavi look better at the moment.

What Serghei is saying about the squad being great anyway is correct, but coming from him, it seems like a 180 to respond to why Flick is doing much better with it.
It has nothing to do with Xavi. I already said a while ago Flick is superior.

This team with Xavi had PSG 4-2 ahead 11 vs 11 last season btw. The signs were clear the team was improving since then. This improvement continued and even got better under Flick. Makes perfect sense.

We’ve conceded 61 goals this season, from 54 games. Prolly gonna end up around 70 by the end of season from 60 games.

In 14/15, it was 37 from 60 games.

In 10/11, it was 36 from 60 games.

A treble would be a true miracle. I don’t think any team who leaks this many goals (yes, we score a lot !!) can manage a treble.

Let’s see what miracle Hansi can do.

The best managers are innovators, they bring new ideas nobody else considered or dared to implement.

This is the type of thing that distinguishes good managers from the great. He is coming with his own innovation and stomping Europe with it.

Even if we don't win the treble, I am sure we are winning at least one of LaLiga or CL along with the Copa and Supercopa, for now ; and next season will be even better as we continue to refine the approach and cover key positions in the market.

That's the miracle part. Going out vs Inter to defensive howlers is not it. It is more like Flick showing his limitations with the squad we have atm.

You said at that time that making the CL QF is a miracle by Xavi. Its ok to revise your opinion but claiming it is in line with your analysis all along is hilarious.

Can you quote that? Might be, probably got overboard dealing with all that Xavi hate which was intoxicating around here at the time.

Beating Porto and Napoli, or Benfica and this season's Dortmund is not a miracle. Inside expectations normally as far as CL results go. Inter and PSG are a clear step up.

The one part I disagree with is linear progression to next season.

A lot of things came together for us this season that I don’t think will hold true next season.

Lewa will be even older. Raphinha will not put up 50 G+A while running 12 km every game.

The one upside is that RM will be dead tired after the CWC and we should be able to blast them early in LL.

The main thing is I trust Flick and I trust the leadership to back him. Although you are right about this, I think its worth adding that we worked out significant kinks in the system in the opening part of the season ; we were 10 pts behind Madrid at one point as we were working out our starting lineup and rotation. Since then it has been up and up, I think this is because Flick has improved his understanding of the squad over this season.

So far, what we have seen is that as time goes on, the team is getting better rather than worse, even though we are at the most tiring part of the season and suffering injuries and knocks to many of our players.

The market will be crucial as always but I think going into next season with a clearer evaluation of the squad and knowledge of who fits and who doesn't will make us better. Its been enough time with such a shocking tactic that if it was a gimmick, we'd see it by now.

I agree. Which is why I'm more pissed off about last night. Chances to make a treble don't come up often. Madrid can and will get stronger, this season's fatigue can spill into next season and get more injuries to likes of Raphinha, Pedri, Yamal...

Need to understand this and be sympathetic. Don't go blaming everyone like we usually do and ask for chopped heads. Stick on with the team.

I already saw posters last night being upset with Raphinha. He played a solid game. Expectations are starting to get out of hand. We got this far because Flick and some top players delivered an amazing season. We overperformed by a decent amount compared to squad value. Once you understand this, we know what to do next. Let's see if club finances allow it. If not, be aware that generally you can't always overperform. You have to improve the squad and go from there.

Flick himself can tweak some things next season. This is his first season, now he knows more rotation is needed. There are some benefits also if a manager has a full season with this squad. Now he knows Pedri's minutes for example will need a better management next seaosn.
